OBS Tutorial Series: #1 - The Basics

In this video, I'm gonna go over all the settings in OBS Studio that you should run through as soon as you install it.

In the next video, we'll create some scenes and go over the tools available.

Holy shit thank you so much for starting a series of OBS tutorials. I've been streaming really casually for a little bit, and I want to learn how to do more complex toying around with the system, and I hope you get into interesting tips and tricks for doing complex systems and setting up more complex stream infrastructures, as I really love the work you do on Arcade Pit and would love to learn how it works.

Great Tutorial, easy to follow a long and still relative to the current software as of 4/30/2018. I am happy to find OBS as I've been looking for a solid screen capture program before I even looked into streaming and this really does it all and then some. Very nice! Forget paying for Adobe Captivate or Camtasia Studios.

Help ! please
I am very new to OBS and wanted to screen record using 1920 x 1080 resolution
I can get the recording to work, but the actual window comes out at about half the required size, when I load it into my video editing program. Puzzled, I did some research. My monitor is set to 1280 x 1024 which is showing as the recommended setting (it's not a new monitor)
How do I get the recording to fill my screen at 1080 please ?
I don't know enough of the technical details, but I am happy that 1920 x 1080 is the size I need, or at least want :)

I've just done my first YouTube live stream using this method. I can watch the replay, but the video isn't showing up on my channel. I have to go into my YouTube studio to view it? What's that all about?
