One of my least favorite tv tropes is someone getting blamed for somebody else's actions and the completely innocent individual is punished for no reason.

Pausing real quick to explain Patrick in the valentine's episode. It's not just that he thought he got a handshake, it's that he got a handshake from his best friend while everyone else got something much more special and meaningful. It's not that Patrick's materialistic, it's that Patrick thinks Spongebob doesn't care about him, hence his whole meltdown at the end. Patrick yells "Patrick needs love too!" because that's how he felt throughout the entire day, that he wasn't loved by someone he cares about, by someone who loves just about everybody in town. Hopefully that clears things up a bit, Strider.

Patchy's "THAT WAS JUST A BUNCH OF CHEAP WALK CYCLES" tantrum always got me 😂

"Squidward, that wasn't the peace treaty, that was a COPY of the peace treaty" is still one of mine and my Mom's favorite one-liners in the entire series and we still regularly quote it to this day.

I have a friend who works at Starbucks, and their craziest work story involves the stadium rave from Jellyfish Jam. There were no customers, so as a joke, he decided to put this on the radio. However, it accidentally got on loop, and since customers started showing up again, they were stuck listening to that for multiple hours.

As much as I absolutely despise the word "overated" being used as a factor for criticism, I do appreciate the attempt to comb through some of the older episode and give a genuine critique while being fair. I can even agree that a lot of these are mostly beloved for one or two good jokes and nothing else. Even Spongebob in its hayday had flaws.

For me, Snowball effect doesn’t have to be too complicated. It’s just plain funny, and that’s what matters to me.

After all these years, what I took from “I’m Your Biggest Fanatic” was that, according to the jellyfish, Spongebob was more Jelly Spotter than Kevin would ever be

Personally, what I like about Jellyfish Jam is the simple lesson on not adopting random animals you don’t know, It’s a great lesson because Kids generally want to have stuff like birds and (sometimes) reptiles as a pet. This is a great way to convey that sometimes, it’s better to understand an animal before randomly adopting it. But I completely understand your ranking 😊💙

Wait, I thought number 9 was universally hated. I remember a lot of people getting after it for being one of the earliest examples of the show being too mean-spirited.

I think there's so much to admire about Squidward. He is often sad but still finds happiness in the most smallest things in life.
While he does often find his neighbors annoying. He also loves them secretly. Squidward is the perfect role model and I need a man like him in my life.

🟨I'm not even what you would consider a fan of Spongebob. But the final frame of Band Geeks. Just seeing how overjoyed Squidward looks is like the perfect finale for the show.
Still makes me cry because it's so unusual to see Squidward actually happy. I honestly think this episode could have been a great finale for the entire show. What could be a better send off than Spongebob literally assembling a band of all the colorful characters that fans have come to love and finally make Squidward happy. It's truly perfect UwU

How about you do an overhated episodes list? Episodes the community hates, but you like!

When it comes to the Snowball episode, they left behind Squidward because he was taking it too seriously and even chucked his Clarinet at Patrick, almost like a rock!

Here’s another trope that’s unbelievable: no one bats an eye when Spongebob and Patrick do whatever, but when Squidward does the same thing, he’s the only one getting punished with stink-eyes and then some

The joke “why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery.” is funny because SpongeBob has a 11 minute per episode running

Idk why but I just loved Patrick's face when he looked at his hand in Valentines Day. While I don't fully think the episode is great, I just find him kind of funny when he does small but silly stuff like that.

My main reason for liking “Jellyfish Jam” is less about the actual writing, and more of the novelty of owning a cel from the episode.
It’s the scene where SpongeBob finally catches the jellyfish.

The biggest thing I like about the snowball episode is the scene where Spongebob turns into a machine gun and shoots like a million snowballs into Patrick's mouth. That's always a hilarious moment.

I feel like a good reason why both Club SpongeBob and Jellyfishing are liked is because in the former, Squidward kept disobeying SpongeBob and Patrick to not go into the club (due to how small the box is). Given Squidward's belief of reverse psychology. He disobeyed and that's what got him stuck there. Plus, he tried to escape and it clipped off all the way to the Kelp Forest. Also, it wasn't about them mindlessly listening to a conch, because given that SpongeBob is a show on an episodic basis, they didn't have to do anything because it's all reset by then. Plus, Squidward did try to act like he's better than both of them (especially with him shaking his rear at SpongeBob).
and In Jellyfishing's case, Squidward instead of just simply declining it, he decides to be arrogant about it and laugh at their expense, that and he slapped a Jellyfish in this episode by calling it stupid, and given that they're this show's equivalent to bees, it made that jellyfish mad for being physically and verbally attacked. Though, 1 problem I do have is why are SpongeBob and Patrick wanting to hunt Jellyfish. It's the first episode and their portrayed like vicious animals that just attack just because they want to. Whereas in later episode, they have shown to be the show's equivalent to butterflies but only bees when necessary.

It's also fascinating to see how much your thoughts on episodes like Opposite Day and Hello Bikini Bottom have changed since you last talked about them.

and to be fair to Valentines Day. I do get Patrick's sentiment. After so much build up and hype, Patrick would've expected a lot more, so with something that really anyone would've done. You could take his frustration as disappointment. Plus, he was about to give SpongeBob the benefit here until everyone in Bikini Bottom just rubs their gifts by thanking SpongeBob, and being constantly disrupted, which did break Patrick's patience. Though, yeah, he went way too far with what he did.

Also, Kevin did come back in the later seasons. Other than that, Nice List all around. I'm glad to see you have opinions that don't always align with the majority of fans and aren't afraid to say them without talking down to them or being overly mean for having a hot take.

Keep up the good work, Strider. ;)
