Hyundai Ioniq ONE YEAR Review! Prius is BORING! 4k

THIS IS HOW IT IS TO OWN ONE, Anyone can look up specs or generic car overview videos from people just test driving the car or having it on their dealership lot. I've had my Ioniq for 10 months now and already clocked in 36,000 miles. Could have done more but the you know what came and things closed. This car has made it through the colorado rockies during february snowstorms with snow tires, to the hot arizona desert, and to the wet rainy pacific north west!

Based on your review and its descriptions I went out and bought a 2020 IonIQ and am super happy with it now a month and if one airs up the tires to near max psi the mileage skyrockets to about 63mpg on average and even with it in 4 cylinder mode mostly its hard to get it to be below 50mpg! The transition computer board is super smooth and one cannot tell if not looking at the dashboard which mode it is in EV or 4cyl. GREAT Vehicle and super easy to drive anywhere! Great video. I just picked up a 2020se model they did alot of changes. Hyundai is going to rule the hybrid and electric market in under 2 years are their plans, 15 vehicles. I had the dealer put on michelin cross climate + tires. Amazing.

Thank you for this driving experience. I realize how noisy the cabin is when the gas motor comes on and you are not driving fast - the sound of the tires, wind and motor drown out your voice when you speak at your constant level (that was intelligent to not change the volume of your voice, thank you from 12-13 mins).

About the white dashboard, the foggyness on the windshield disappears when using polarized glasses !!! (like clip on ones or polarized sunglasses).

I really enjoyed your review - nice to read a review from an owner after a year of driving. I have a 2017 Elantra that has been absolutely problem free - but it has only 30k miles on it. After reading your review, I am thinking about more seriously about a 2020 Ioniq SEL. Would you say that the road noise is greater than in your Elantra or about the same? Especially road noise on freeways. It seemed that your mike picked up quite a bit of noise. BTW, thanks for the tip on warming up the engine in the winter.

Thanks for a great review! I just bought a 2022 Ioniq SEL plug in yesterday. I didn't see your review until today. However, it really gives me a heads up on what I can expect out of this vehicle. Especially since you're doing real world driving and putting a ton of miles on your Ioniq in a relatively short period of time. It appears this car is super reliable and can really take a pounding. Thanks for your objective review 👍 In all honesty even with a 10 year 100k extended warranty, I'm wary about any car with a large battery (PHEV model) AND a ICE engine / regular transmission which can develop all sorts of issues unless there is a eCVT. Also, one can't recoup the extra cost unless the car is driven more than 150k miles in my neck of the woods, so any issues with the battery and transmission beyond 100k miles is a sunk cost as far as I'm concerned. But in case of the regular Ioniq Hybrid, as long as the battery and transmission lasts should be Ok.
