Thought you will talk about more serious issues but ok.
1. Dealerships suck at fixing such small issues because they are incompetent, because they don't want to deal with it or both.
2. You should take your car to local body shop for trunk adjustment, to local electrician to fix a small bad connection issue with charger, it's clear it only needs a small adjustment or additional fixing to keep a proper contact.
3. All parts can squeak in clod dry weather so a bit of WD 40 would be a lot easier and cheaper then driving 4 hours for them to tell you they can't replace them.
4. First try to fix such small things yourself, use your brains as it's usually a lot easier, faster, cheaper and with better results then waiting for dealership to waste hours or days trying to fix small thing they don't want to deal with, they are overpaid for dealing with such things.
5. If car is new and under warranty you are mistaken if you think stupid dealerships can resolve or must resolve every small thing, just because they are suppose to as many times they are totally incompetent, rigid in their approach and have no ide how to improvise or think out of the box. In other words they work by the book and you can't resolve all the problems with such approach.
6. Don't expect others or rely on dealership to do every tiny thing for you as you can do it a lot better then they can.

The trunk lid was formed incorrectly during manufacturing. Cannot be adjusted. The plug in problem, just expand the prongs outward by hand. Should be more snug fitting. The door handle squeak can be solved by try spraying WD -40 inside the handle hinge when the handle pops out to be opened.

I’m with the owner here… Hyundai gets a big fail in my book. I’m Crossing this car off my wish list.

You should generally avoid buying car models that are less than two years in production. It makes four a much better ownership experience no matter the brand.

I'm so glad I have the SE. So many of the things that Hi5 owners are complaining about, the SE doesn't even have... I've had zero issues with my Ioniq 5 SE.

The panel gap issue is next to impossible to fix once the car is built like that.

I'll add some perspective vs earlier models. I have a 2023 Ioniq 5 AWD LTD which I've driven for 2, 000 miles, charging mostly at home and a few times at Electrify America stations. To date, no malfunctions and no fit/finish build quality issues whatsoever. I'll keep posting both the good and the bad. (I haven't tested the 120v outlet under the rear seat yet).

I purchased my Ionic 5 about 2 months ago and it has been in the service dept twice and for a total of 3.5 weeks. This last time I picked it up the battery appears to drain way faster than before I took it in for it "charging suspended" issue. My first Hyundai back in the 90's was terrible and I'm not sure this has changed my mind.

There was a story about totalled Ionic 5s due to road debris on the strikeplate underneath the car resulting in a repair cost of $56K (canadian) and the insurance company deciding to total it. It sounds like even when nothing major goes wrong, Hundai just isn't up to the task of manufacturing and servicing their vehicles. Thanks for the video. Maybe it will prevent others having similar problems.

My ownership experience has been mostly great. I've only had two issues:
1. The velcro stickers on the carpet behind the back seats came unstuck. Hyundai replaced the carpet and stickers (and the dealership's tech used his foot to prop the driver's door open and pushed dirt into my speaker), and the new ones immediately failed. The dealer didn't offer a second replacement. I think the surface of the carpet back could be roughed up so that a different glue gets better adhesion, but this issue is unresolved.
2. My charge port door button stopped working. I had to use the key until the part arrived. They disassembled the trunk interior to replace the entire chargeport. The dealership's tech opened my spare tire kit (for some reason?) and left it strewn out in the trunk. They added some dirt to the interior surfaces and returned my car dirtier than it arrived. They gave me a voucher for a carwash.
The car has been really great to own, except when it comes time to bring it in for service.

I don’t understand why any car needs to sit for 2 days let alone 2 months at any dealership waiting for service. It’s not like the technicians are spending 1, 500 consecutive man hours working on it. What happened to inspect and diagnose in one visit, order parts, and then repair in a separate visit. Cars shouldn’t need to sit at the dealership waiting for service. They should be there long enough to diagnose, and then scheduled for estimated tool-time duration. If it takes longer it takes longer but at least you have your car in between.

I sold my Tesla Model S because I needed 13 service visits in 2.5 years, I couldn't take it anymore. I totally understand that service can ruin an otherwise good car. I felt like something was always breaking within a month of my previous repair.

I completely understand. I have a Honda Accord that I bought brand new and I’m dealing with similar experiences. Constant rattles, misaligned body panels, paint peeling, and infotainment glitches. I take it in every time I have issues and here I am, still rattles everywhere, a horrible paint job to fix my first factory horrible paint job, still won’t fix the infotainment and won’t fix the misaligned panels….currently trying to get rid of it.

Every EV manufacturer is like please don't buy our car next, please don't buy our car next.😆

WE HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD LEXUS nx 200T, THAT HAS NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS SO FAR, LAST SERVICE CALL, THEY COULD NOT FIND 1 THING IT NEEDED, IT HAS BEEN PERFECT. EVERY GAP IS STILL RIGHT ON. It should be perfect, it's made by Toyota. Here in Ca. Hyundais and Kias are stolen at an incredible rate, some insurance companies won't insure them now. Hyundai will give you a steering wheel lock though, no Hyundais for me.

You might learn a lesson here. You’re really being rather nitpicky about the tailgate fit, and there’s no way any sane person would have their car in the shop that much for something that is literally so minor. I get that you would like it to be perfect, but it’s not a perfect world. I would rather have the tailgate a little bit out of alignment, than have it rattling all the time. I have a feeling no matter who you buy a car from, you’re going to be complaining about it on the Internet. There’s no such thing as a perfect car, and you might sleep better once you figure that out. Trust me, I’m speaking from experience, because I’m overly OCD about issues on vehicles as well. I do agree that you got horrible service and the ridiculous times for them to get parts is beyond comprehension. If Hyundai wants to succeed in the EV market, they better shape up their service fast.

Hyundai dealerships just can't figure out how to not suck. It's been happening for years and years, no change.

I've had issues with Hyundai failing to understand an issue, requiring multiple visits before the repair was successfully accomplished. The root cause was the rear Electric Oil Pump not working at all, allowing rear motor temp raising to 200 degrees f, causing it to stop operating. Since I have an AWD, the front motor kicked in, so was not stranded. Because no DTC was posted for the non responsive EOP, or for the high temp of the rear motor, or the failure of the rear motor to function, Hyundai was unable to recognize an issue existed. Fortunately, after many attempts, my dearler authorized the EOP replacement, which, after a lot of inconvenience, resolved my issue.

Glad all worked out for you on the I5 & congratulations on becomming a Dad!

With concern to the tailgate rattle, I had the same problem on my Tesla Y and it was the back trunk headliner plastic clips that were not secured or broken probably during assembly! I was certain that the problem was on the bottom part but was actually on the top part.
