We Tried the AVERAGE AMERICAN DIET, Here's What Happened

Fast Food, Big Food, Cheap Food. Just what IS the average American diet? As the United States is a big country there's many potential answers, but today we'll be grabbing some of the most popular grocery store items (foods we also ate frequently growing up) and seeing how exactly we feel and also examining what exactly IS in the diet we're consuming.

People in the grocery store seeing you guys buy this stuff: "some people just have the best genetics. Wish I could eat like that and look like that"

No wonder kids can't focus at school. They start their day with a PROCESSED sugar crash.

As an Asian, what shocked me the most is finding out that a lot of American don’t drink water; the drink soda. So. Mind. Blown. In my country soda is more like occasional treats and definitely not substitute for water, heck we even drink more water afterwards if we do drink soda. When I visited America, I was in awe of their selection of sodas and snacks, though lots of them were just too sweet for my palate. Somehow being grateful that living in second world country means that we have access to fresh food more than the heavily processed one in America; fresh food is cheaper than processed one too.

The crazy thing about it is kids are eating this and parents are not coming to the realization that this can cause a literal addiction to eating junk food.

Usually, buff dudes try different diets for a month or at least a week, but this one, even they knew better than to consume it more than 1 day... That's how dangerous "the average American diet" is... Let that sink in...

My dad had a stroke when I was in 7th grade. After my whole family changed the way we eat and I feel so much better, more energy, and I can focus a lot better. It's amazing how much diet can change about your life

It's pretty damn disturbing seeing this as the average diet. I'm from Honduras and the majority of the population have the same type of destructive diet. Being a doctor myself, it's amazing the number of patients you see every day with high blood pressure, diabetes and morbid obesity (the whole combo) but even more sad is that we used to eat like this growing up (at least I was one of those fat kids eating like this). I'm 29 years old, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and I can't afford having a destructive diet with my chronic disorder. Since the beginning of the year I made eating healthy as a lifestyle, I exercise daily and feel amazing. If you don't look after your own health, nobody will!

I have to say, seeing fit people from the US is really impressive after watching this. Congrats to all buff Americans, the challenge of food over there seems incredibly difficult. Really puts things into perspective for me. Great vid.

Insert another "Americans eat like they have free healthcare " joke.

This is truly unfortunate. I work in a grocery store and watch what typical Americans buy and much of their cart is processed foods with maybe 10% fruits/veggies. The amount of chips people buy is also shocking...
