This is definitely true regarding Europe. I live in Germany in particular and the amount of overweight people I see on a regular basis has increased dramatically. Around 30-40% of the people I see when I’m shopping for groceries are obese lol

Something I've heard from visitors is surprise at the high level of fit Americans. While there are a lot fat people, our health concious rate is pretty high compare to other places too. For other places these people have said there is a lower level of fat people but most others are just meh, not many people in their country really strive for high fitness.
