In this video, we discuss why you might be getting so many colds and flus over the summer. I'll also break down how we catch a cold, how long it takes for you to have cold and flu symptoms, and how to treat it naturally at home.

What is a cold?
So a cold is a common viral infection that affects our upper respiratory airways - so that’s your nose, throat and sinuses. Once you get the infection it can take up to two days to show signs and symptoms.

Why do I get so many colds?
Some people might have unhealthy diets - this can mean they miss out on important vitamins vital for your immune system. Also stress can affect our immune system. Reducing our stress can help improve our immune system.

How long do colds last?
Colds can often last between 1-2 weeks. And on average an adult will get between 2-4 colds in a year whereas a child will get 6-10 colds in a year.

What are the symptoms of a cold?
A runny nose, cough, ear pains, temperatures and body aches can be common symptoms of a cold or flu.

When are you contagious with a cold?
That is usually 1-2 weeks.

How to cure a cold naturally?
The most important factors are getting adequate rest and drinking plenty of fluids.
Your body needs time and resources to find infections. If you have a sore throat - then mixing salt to warm water and gargling can help sooth the pain. So can things like menthols sweets and lozenges. Warm soups and cups of can also be soothing and help

What to take for a cold?
Firstly if you’re getting high temperatures, muscle aches then paracetamol or ibuprofen may help with those symptoms. If you have a blocked nose then some over-the-counter decongestants that come in the form of nasal sprays or tablets may also be useful for some people.

I stopped having colds and flu altogether when I cut out sugar and stuck to eating whole foods, especially red meat.

Somebody please make a permanent vaccine for cold...it keep bringing me to bed rest often. I think i have to start living in a remote place where this cold virus cannot reach.

I uses to get alot of colds and flu not had anything in the lasts ten years since changing my diet lots of dark green vegatables and supplements drinking enough warter throughout the day not had any form of virus not sure if arm normal becauses i dont get anything.
