in my case for both my low end laptop and entry level pc, smooth biomes actually increased fps for some reason, so i recommend trying out both and seeing what is best for the smooth biomes option

BRO THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!, I used to suffer from a frame rate of 40-ish.. but by only changing the normal game settings and using optifine I got to 170 fps thank you so much(I'm not a bot don't keep telling me that I'm a bot)
