Colt Seavers. Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.

Convinced some friends to come see it with me, made very clear it's a popcorn movie, don't expect too much etc... trepidation, fingers crossed, then as it unfolded FAR better than I hoped, a great incisive script, bombast writ large... c'mon Oscars, give stunt choreographers/performers their due, we have been enthralled with their work ever since Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton and Charlôt first blew our collective minds A HUNDRED YEARS AGO... just remember that the catacomb scene in John Wick 2 and the bus scene in Nobody had no Oscar to be nominated TO!...madness!

The movie within the movie feels as if Zack Snyder directed Dune.

This movie exceeded my expectations. It's fun, breezy and an all-around blast. Loved the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. I also loved that the movie was a love letter to the stunt community.

I thought the added layers etc detracted from what could have been a cool and simple action flick. Some of the set pieces were good and Blunt/Gosling chemistry was great.

It is, an entertaining popcorn film, but there is undeniably good chemistry between the two leads.
It also pays pretty good homage to Lee majors as there are the Steve Austin noises he makes when he's flexing his bionics so you know what's Wait for the posts credits and you will see the two original stars in cameos👍😊

It was the perfect Saturday afternoon movie, the way they used to be. No character "universe", loads of humour, loads tongue-in-cheek action, top-notch acting and likeable leads, a rom-com, no sci-fi. Perfect. I came out grinning. It way exceeded expectations.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it on Tuesday before main release, popcorn movie fun. A rare treat these days.

loved it. Took me back to romancing the stone, something for the whole family.

This is the first movie i have ever walked out of, it seemed the creators were trying to make little jokes about the film industry but it just felt like they were smirking at me for paying to watch this thing.

The dialogue between the two leads rambles on for way too long and happens way too often.

I thought maybe the action would save it but after an initial showing of some good stunts which were there to explain to the audience what a Stuntman was as if we were not sure. After that the action scenes really highlighted the fact that CGI is the modern day stuntman

I wrote this yt comment to help someone avoid making the mistake i did, Furiosa is still in cinemas so just go and see that instead, its a film you will actually want to see a second time or at least to completion.

Sorcerer (Wages of Fear) is the greatest soundtrack of all time. Love it. Well, that or some of Popol Vuh’s work for Herzog. Love your overviews. Thank you.

Just watched it tonight.
Absolutely fantastic.
Enjoyed the story.
Would recommend to others.
Incredibly entertaining.
The occasional jokes were brilliant.

I've just seen it. As usual I agree with the good doctor's review. Good family fun. Plus one of the best Chekov's guns (or Chekov's hands tied behind the back) I've seen in a long time. I wondered too if there were a few nods to Hudson Hawk - Gosling forever being denied coffee, the movie quotes etc.

I enjoyed it, but felt that too many of the comedy moments didn't quite land. Sadly, what was the funniest scene in the trailers wasn't in the final cut (the joke about the Aussie's accent when Colt wants to report an "Ice Crime"). I can understand why they removed one or 2 other "jokes" as they were extremely inappropriate for children (given that this is a 12 in the UK - definitely not a film for children). So... I had to settle on 3/5, even with all of the action (which most action-comedies struggle to balance, as this one did). Oh, and Hannah Waddingham stole just about every scene she was in. 😊

Agree with Mark, movie is great fun. High quality action and Gosling and Blunt have top tier chemistry.

Reminds me of "The Stunt Man" from the mid 1970"s ??? with Peter O'Toole. Anybody remember it ?? Great movie.

Huge Ryan and Emily fan. Now even more so. Gosling’s comedic timing is great. Blunt has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Delightful movie, don't expect your life to be changed, but finally a decent, well thought-out action movie that does something a bit different, doesn't take itself too seriously and genuinely got me laughing throughout props to Gosling and Blunt, and the directors/writers who made this happen!

If Ryan doesn't sing "I'm the unknown stuntman" in the end credits then I'm not interested.
