This is a movie very much about class and how the rich commoditize the poor. This is reflected most obviously with Ani’s story but it can also be found in Igor. Both of them are ultimately used for their bodies one for beauty and one for brawn.

Brilliant movie and Yes Sean Baker is so humanistic, the compassionate eye of Igor constantly in frame is a constant reminder and heartbreaking in itself….

0:38 ***Ani lives in Brooklyn and works at a club in Manhattan. Just wanted to point that out since I feel like her commuting all the way from Brighton Beach to midtown everyday is an important detail of her character’s hard work ethic

Mikey Madison blew me away. What an absolute knock out of a performance in a fabulous film. I was truly devastated at the end of the film. I couldn't stop thinking about her performance.

The final scene was worth admission alone.

I loved this movie. It really felt like the expectations and the deconstructions of the American Dream. One of my faves of the year

Brilliant film. I was shocked at how funny this was. I can't think of a comedy in the last 10 years that made me laugh more

Anora definitely feels like the original concept for Pretty Woman before it got Hollywoodizied.

This movie is simply incredible and well deserving of the Palm D'or. Sean Baker is an exceptional artist.

I went to see this yesterday afternoon. Sean Baker delivers a masterpiece of human emotion, urging for empathy of the overlooked as we see the struggles of escaping your own fate. Anyone is capable of falling under the illusion of the American Dream no matter where you’re from.

I’m so glad that Baker has finally had a real breakthrough into the mainstream. This year has been pretty good for films that aren’t comic book IP. Hopefully this is a growing trend.

I couldn’t belive “The French Connection” homage! It never felt forced and it’s done hilariously

Watched it today. Blew me away . The characters were extremely 3D. Wasn’t cliched . The dad laughing at the son in the lawyers office in Vegas, rather than threatening, was a nice touch .

We had to wait until November but it was worth it to see the best film of 2024. I've seen Sean Baker's past films and this masterpiece is the result of years of him as a film making journeyman and learning his craft....this product, in my opinion, is impossible to release as your debut feature (watch the brilliance of Tangerine and the Florida project as part of Sean's learning curve). Its perfect, made me emotional and stayed with me after viewing. The tonal shifts in the story perfectly rendered about misplaced love, class, wealth and ultimately redemption with a devastating ending. Mikey Madison: A star is born. If this film doesn't win the Oscar for best film and best actress, there aren't no justice in this world.

Movie of the year? It's up there. It will be in the top ten of every list.

Wild, sweet, really funny (like great comic timing funny) but never feels anything less than watching real people live a crazy life in front of you. It's the cherry on the cake for a wonderful year at the movies.

Finally saw this (it didn't screen anywhere near me upon initial release), totally deserving of all its accolades! By turns hilarious, moving, touching and heartbreaking. One of the best, if not the best films of the year (maybe the decade) and possibly Baker's best yet!

I have seen all of Sean Baker's movies and consider him to be the best director in the world. Anora is my new favorite, with Tangerine and Take Out tied for second. Whew. This man Rocks!

Finally got round to this. It felt almost Safdie Brothers like at points (in a good, yet stressful way). But them last few scenes, wow. Really hit me. Actually shed some tears, unexpectedly!
