The Purpose of Life || Iqbal, Nietzsche, Sufism and Islam

Existentialism is perhaps the oldest problem of philosophy. Our sense of purpose, born out of our habit of making sense of everything, has given rise to many schools of thought.
Religion is considered to be a sure shot solution to existentialism ... but in truth, the classical interpretations of Religion that most of us follow do not adequately address the problem of existentialism. In fact, I believe that these classical schools of thought are a part of the Dajl/deception of Dajjal/Anti-Christ.
This video explores different attempts to make sense of life's purpose and argues that many of the more sophisticated schools of thought are actually very similar.
Note that this video does not actively make detailed, sophisticated philosophical arguments. Many things have been simplified, diluted and even misinterpreted on purpose to make the video more digestible for the casual viewer.

I will be back 🙏

(Note: The translation of Momin I gave at 7:17 is incorrect. The origins of the word Momin are more decisively related to the word "aman.")

The Hadith:
Three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to inquire about the worship of the Prophet. When they were informed about it, they considered their own worship insignificant and said, "Where are we in comparison with the Prophet while Allah has forgiven his past and future sins?"

One of them said, "I will offer prayer throughout the night forever."

The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast."

The third said, "I will keep away from women and will never marry."

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to them and said, "Are you the people who said such-and-such? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I pray and sleep, and I also marry women. So, he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not from me (not one of my followers)."

I don't if you are still reading comments or no but this quote of Imam Ali perfectly defines the idea which brings solution to the things you said

"I did not worship you because I am afraid of Hell, or out of greed for your Paradise. I have worshiped you because I found you worthy of being worshiped ( represents importantance of intellect"

Imam Ali.

I have read a lot of Iqbal and Nietzsche and I couldn't have made a better explanation. This is the best video I have ever seen on the internet.

Having purpose of life is such a blessing. Just surviving life, marriage, reproducing children is not the only purpose

Übermensch frees himself from the shackles of religious and cultural norms that stops itself from attaining glory whereas Mard e Momin frees himself from the shackles of worldly pleasures.

Übermensch is on a mission to make his outer correct whereas Mard e Momin is more concerned about his inner self. Iqbal might’ve got inspired from Nietzsche but their supermen ( Mard e Momin and Übermensch) have a varying degree of differences.

Iqbal and Nietzsche both provided a solution to end our sufferings. East got its inspiration from Iqbal, whereas west got inspired from Nietzsche.

Btw. Very nice and informative video . Thank you very much for sharing this .

Good explanation. But as a student of psychology I can say that Darr and Lalach is quite natural. And Qur'an itself emphasized a length over hell and paradise.

Infact Qur'an described it as a main trait of momin that "they seek protection from hell" - Surah Furqan.

However this is also true that on an individual level a person should think beyond hell/heaven. But this is to also remember that we human beings have different personality traits and abilities. We cannot expect everybody to think the same way.

The major part is that one must make himself humble and submit to the will of Allah, because Allah *deserves* to be worshipped.

I am very impressed Usama. I literally didn't know you are so talented. However, I would like to correct you about the difference in Neitzsche and Iqbal. Iqbal didn't take this concept from Neitzsche. Iqbal himself rejected this notion in his life. I would think Iqbal has taken this idea from Soren Kierkegaard but again I came to know Iqbal didn't took this from Kierkegaard as well. Iqbal took this concept from "Perfect Man" in Sufi Doctrine especially from the writings of Abdul Karim Al-Jili. Iqbal had written his article on this concept in 1900, fifteen years before he wrote Asrare Khudi. Furthermore, Neitzsche's philosophy has nothing to do with any moral life. He wants such race of humanity who excercises its will instead of emotion or reason. Hitler might be the perfect example of his Ubermensch. For Iqbal, Momin is the one who has ordained himself with all the qualities of God. The momin has both Jamal(beauty, spiritual attraction) and Jalal (Assertive power of Almighty) through which he strives to create a society based on the principles of Quran. Although the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a messenger of Allah but he is also the Perfect Man(Momin) of Sufi's and Iqbal.
