He came from money. His father was a classical music executive. His mother was an editor for the new York times. Bordain was the epitome of trying to prove to his parents he was worth it. Sad story, love your kids folks. Hug your child.

Flat broke?! He was never flat broke. He came from money.

This came up in a Google search about him: “At the time of Bourdain's birth, Pierre was a salesman at a New York City camera store, as well as a floor manager at a record store. He later became an executive for Columbia Records, and Gladys was a staff editor at The New York Times.”

That’s not “flat broke.” However, that doesn’t change the fact that he was an awesome chef, but don’t try to make it out that he started at the bottom with no advantages. May he rest in peace and rise again to a happy life. 🙏🏼
