"The king, the clown, and the colonel" He definitely has a way with words.

Bourdain just nailed depression so well. The dumbest little thing can trigger a 3 day spiral.

Just the descriptive language he uses in normal conversation is amazing. I can't even intentionally craft the written word as well as he naturally spoke. I miss this guy.

My dad was also a very well known chef, had hundreds work for him, I met people after my dad died that said he'd call the jail here and ask if they have any inmates who want jobs just to give someone a chance and a way out. He was loved and his employers put on the biggest funeral I've ever seen, 500 plus people there. He looked and spoke and acted a lot like Anthony. Losing Anthony was so sad, right when zkotchen confidential came out my dad loved it and died in 06. Anthony became a way for me to see my dad again now they're both gone. I miss you Dad.

This is why I love Bourdain. The man has enough class and sophistication to eat at the worlds best restaurants in France yet enough humility and grace to go to KFC when hes drunk and wants Mac n cheese.

RIP. You did the world a great favour, millions got to see places they didn't even know existed. You made TV history.

The nervous laughter after the "three days of depression" comment. Exactly when we should be saying "are you OK?"

One of the most humiliating moments in my life was when I had lunch in a mall food court by myself in the middle of the day in the middle of the week just because I was tired of eating by myself in my apartment. Soul crushing.

1:46 to 2:40 is how I'll always remember him... articulate, funny, dry... such a great story teller. RIP Chef.

I never met Anthony Bourdain personally but I always felt like he was a close friend. We were the same age, roughly the similar tall, lanky build, liked the same music. When I heard that he had died, talk about a soul crushing experience. I still miss him. But seeing him like this can still make my day better. Thank you, Tony for everything man.

"I put on a hoodie and slid into the Colonel..."
Sounds like the beginning of my KFC slashfic...

He joked here about sliding into a 3 day depression. Clearly it’s a joke. But I’m familiar enough from hearing him speak elsewhere to know that he has joked about being depressed before. We all know of his early struggles with addiction and alcohol. From struggling with depression myself I know that those who like to joke about it are usually the ones who know what it’s like from personal experience. RIP my friend.

Somebody that brought so much joy into the world and peoples lives, it’s such a shame took his own life. Shows that even successful people can suffer depression and mental challenges. RIP. You were the best.

My most soul crushing meal was a fancy dinner put on by the president of my college. I had found out my girlfriend of 5 years cheated on me at 3pm, and dinner began at 5:30pm. Bland food, boring conversation, and i was in the middle of a mental breakdown. I remember spending the majority of the meal trying not to cry into a plate of bland dry chicken. Absolutely the most depressing meal of my life.

You literally cannot say "I got food poisoning at a Johnny Rockets in an airport" any more beautifully than Anthony Bourdain just did. RIP our worldwide cuisine king
