God.... Anderson Cooper is really fitting the American tourist stereotype, traveling to Ukraine and eating spaghetti all week instead of trying out the cultural food.

It pisses me off so much when people say foreign foods (or foods not made in a sterille environment) have food poisoning, and then later go eat at Burger King, as if fast food chains are less harmful for you than the food made with real ingredients..

Indian vegetarian food is not wimpy, pretentious  and overelaborately refined meat replacement like so much of Western veggie food. It is a real entity all to itself, and has thousands of years of history behind it. I so respect Bourdain for not being a vegetarian snob in this case. I now realize that much of his vegetarian dissing is based on a deep understanding of what the joy of eating, the soul of eating, is all about. Too bad animals have to be killed though. Signed, Vegetarian Guy..

Most Indians know not to avoid street food but water from restaurants and such that's what's dangerous (as an Indian myself)

As a white, anglo-saxon, protestant married to an English born Sikh lady, I can attest to the fabulousness of Indian vegetarian cooking. My favourite dishes my wife makes are all ones which I would never have ordered in an Indian restaurant eleven years ago. And PS, how sad that Anthony Bourdain is gone.

Love Indian food. Been there 5 times. Never got stomach flu. I avoid ice cream, ice, drinks not in a can or bottle, uncooked salads. Ate all else. Delicious.

People who drink alcohol so much, whose breakfast, lunch and dinner comes from restaurant, they are even thinking indian food will kill them. HA😆

As a person who grew up in India and lives in US now, I can tell you that street food will not kill you. However, get your own bottle of water.

Also, one has to realize that a lot of the food over here in US comes from horrible sources as well. Look at McDonalds, or the street side hot dogs. So if you are okay with eating that, you should be okay with Indian street food as well.

Here's a pro tip for any foodie being adventurous on street foods, "if everyone eats there that place is safe."

How are people so ignorant. Indian food is literally vegetarian: healthiest as could be 🤦‍♂️

Yep, the vegetarian food in India is godlike compared to Americas.

Turmeric is actually a very effective anti inflammatory spice. It is really good for your health and is a fundamental spice in Indian cuisine.

..Indian food is my absolute favorite food ...ever.. if I could have Indian/Pakistani food every day.. I would.. I was a narrow minded American when it came to trying other things until my mid 20's.. now I feel bad for folks who won't try new things 🤓
