A note for someone who may have faced the same frustrating problem as I did. I have not seen this on any other guide

I was using an SFP addon card for my 1821 and connected that to my switch via DAC. When I did the Mode 2 reset on my NAS, it deactivated that connection and the NAS was no longer connected to my network so I couldn't continue with the setup. I had to plug in a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable into one of the ethernet ports on the NAs and connect it to my switch before I could continue with the setup process after doing the reset. Once I had completed the setup, the SFP port was once again active.

So this means that if someone steals my NAS, he will get access to all my data which are not stored in an encrypted folder, is it correct? is there a way to disable options 1 and 2?

I have the synology of one bay.
If a disk fills up but I don't want to migrate it, but I want to replace it with a new one, what about the full disk?, how is the old disk configured, and how can I access the information if it is not connected to a synology?

Great, what if it says, account deleted and IP BLOCKED? The IP blocked in RESET 1 will take effect?

One thing that is unclear and should be important - Can Synology Support chime in with how is the data erased in "Mode 3" - are the disk data deleted then Zero'd overwritten with random passes or is the array simply broken and disks fast initialized or something to that effect?

Thank you to the jackasses at Synology for removing the ability to format a single drive in EXT4 format when already using BTRFS. BTRFS has character limits and if you upgrade your DSM to latest version, you will lose ability to format even a single drive in EXT4. Anything after DSM 7.2-64570-2 won't allow. Whose the jackass in management that decided this? Thank you!!!
