I’m betting the money will get blown on material goods, and then they’ll be right back where they were. I’ve seen it. I’m a contractor and while working on a low income project, I saw how the stimulus check money was handled by them. The manager of the apartments (a black woman) was complaining to us how most of the tenants didn’t pay their rent. Then the stimulus checks arrived, and it was like a parade of Fed Ex and Amazon trucks started arriving. I lost count of the amount of huge TV’s I saw. Manager told me she was pissed, because she went around to collect rent and over 3/4 of them had no money! Every one of those apartments I worked in were disgusting. Drugs laying around. Cars out front that needed to be junked. But that week, when the $$$$ arrived, EVERYONE got a big delivery of expensive electronics and such. But didn’t pay their bills, rent, or put it in the bank. Same will happen in California. A bunch of non slave owners will shell out a crap ton of money to non slaves, the stores will actually sell a bunch of stuff instead of getting looted for once, and in a short time it’ll be right back like it was.

Reparations if paid, need to be payed by families that had ancestors that owned slaves to families that had ancestors that were slaves. Proof needs to be shown that their relative was owned by the family that they are seeking reparations from and that it impacted the current lives of their descendents. Otherwise it won't survive a Constitutional challenge. The state would basically be levying a fine against the citizens for a crime no one living there committed. It would have to be carried out the same way the court carries out restitution. If I am wronged by a black person I don't get to demand the entire black race has to make things right. I would have to sue the specific person who harmed me and prove they harmed me, prove how much they harmed me and then the court would decide how much I was actually harmed and judge based upon that.
