Considering this Batman survives a point-blank explosion and Christian Bale's Batman survived a skyscraper fall by landing on a car, I'm thinking Batman might be lying about the whole "no superpowers" thing

Lets not forget about spalling. When a bullet hits a hard enough surface, it has a good chance to shatter and send fragments out in a deadly ring. Imagine your armor stopping the bullets, only to have hundreds of jagged metal pieces fly into your neck and exposed chin anyways. Some body armor comes with spall coating to prevent this, but it does still happen.

According to a comic source, Batman's suit is made out of a "Titanium-Kevlar Triweave" SPECIALLY and custom made by Wayne Enterprises.

Basically, a comic book way to integrate real world science with plot armor.

Between the 4 channels, we’ve gotten 8 videos in one weekend, including one of which that was a 30 minute video. Thank you editors for all the work you’ve done!

Batman leaving his lower face exposed does actually have a good reason. He's constantly pulling off stunts and running and leaping from roof top to roof top so obviously that will get extremely exhausting, so he has to leave SOME space open to sweat, plus it lets him breath clearer.

Another problem with the exposed jawline is that if that armor doesn't catch the whole bullet, there's a good chance the bullets will fragment and could send shrapnel flying upwards from his chest into his face.

Fun fact around 4:10The Theorist mentioned “combat boots probably picked up from the local army surplus store”, which is where The Riddler’s followers get their Riddle masks, also known as “Winter Combat Mask” in movie.

I’m pretty sure the reason Batman doesn’t cover his face is so that the people he saves can se that he’s human and be a little calm. When Batman goes into combat against people like darkseid he wears armor that covers his face.

The chest plate (the baterang) of his suite seems to be consistently tougher than the rest of his body; in Batman Arkham Knight, Jason Todd points this out and tells his militia to aim for the joints and throat

Cool fact about kevlar. The original creator used Samurai armour as an inspiration for the weave and layering to make it more durable. I watched a documentary about the history of body armour and I thought it was so cool when I found that out.

This about batman's armor reminds me of why he had the yellow bat emblem. It is intentionally bright to daw gunfire to the most heavily armored part of the suit. He basically put a bullseye over the strongest place. Which is why it's a shame most movies leave it out

As a veteran and fireams enthusiast, and HUGE theorist fan, this video is my favorite thing this week lol. Also, Winchesters and AR/M16 style rifles arent always chambered in 5.56/223. Also most military body armour is a ceramic plate (SAPI plate) coated to prevent spalling, and backed by thick kevlar ;)

One thing about his cowl is that it's stronger than it looks. During the scene at the docks, if you slow it down, we can actually see that a bullet hit the cowl, but it didn't do much damage, and he raised his arm to block the rest of the bullets.

To be fair in Batman's defense, this version of batman is very fresh/green. I think the movie says that it's only his second year of being batman that the points of the movie take place, so it makes sense to me that he isn't perfectly skilled and prepared for the stuff he goes against. Anyways, great video, love your stuff, keep up the good work.

Matt Reeves basically put Heath Ledgers Joker theory that Batman is the cause of the criminals into an amazing Batman film, also if your wondering why Batman never has a full face mask, it's to help him breathe due to the movements he does especially fighting at least that's the modern practical reason
