'I Couldn't Care Less' Said The Passenger About Fallen Soldier, But He Has No Idea Who Is Behind Him

On a flight bound for Detroit, Mr Johnson, one of the passengers, shows utter disregard for a fallen soldier and his family, who are transferring his body. Mr Johnson's behavior soon sparks outrage and disgust among the airline staff and select passengers. Unbeknownst to him, a certain person sitting behind him would teach him a valuable lesson, one he would remember for a lifetime.

I was on a flight that also was transporting the body of a fallen soldier along with the family. Our fight captain and crew made all passengers aware of this and in similar fashion asked everyone to not only remain reverent during the flight but to also remain seated until the family, and casket had all left the tarmac. Despite it being a full flight with undoubtedly some having to make connections everyone without exception remained stellar. People seemed to understand the gravity of such an event and the sacrifice of both this soldier and family. It was a humbling experience and gave me hope that not all empathy has been lost. The story rang so true of ppl’s lack of manners and sensitivity all enveloping today’s society. I never thought a veteran would be disrespected but was I wrong; yet, kudos to the airline staff, plane passengers, media, all who contributed to the success of getting this wonderful serviceman the respect he deserved, though not when it presented itself. May his family know how proud and grateful I am of his ultimate sacrifice and my condolences to all.

I saw a video of a woman who recorded that scene of the crying widow. I cried for hours. I don’t believe in wars. But I’m a Gold Star who always respected the right of those family members to serve. I know for a fact how disrespectful people are with soldiers. Even people that work for them.

The other passengers who didn't listen, who were trying to push through this single passenger raising a fuss, are just as bad as he is. If I was the captain, I would've gone out there and yelled at them all to sit down and show some respect.
