Why I Don't Care What Other People Think

A little note:

I don't think it's possible nor healthy to not ever care what others think. I care. Sometimes, a little too much. But usually, just enough. But I've worked on (and I'm still working on) trusting myself and being comfortable in the decisions that I make and the opinions that I have.

Hi everyone. Hope you enjoyed this little video. It might be the last one filmed in my current home which feels really crazy and I can't wait to show you all the new space!! :) Anyway. Is there anything you want to do but you're too worried about what others will think?

Recognize what you can control, change, or let go of…
When I find myself feeling a negative emotion, I will ask myself three questions:

Is this something that I can control?
Is this something that I can change?
Is this something that I can let go of?

Instead of always caring _about_ these things, we should instead focus on caring _for_ - for other people, for ourselves, for what's important to us.

Caring what people think is a double edged sword; it may give you validation momentarily but it takes it away just as easily. Always be true to yourself

As I got older I realized trying to please everyone around you actually prevents you from bringing out the best in oneself. The most successful people in history never let naysayers drown their inner voice.

How did this come so timely? This is exactly what I was thinking about this morning. At some point in my life I cared so much what others think that I lost my own identity. I always thought I need to be "more this and that" to fit in in an entirely new society. Right now I'm trying to regain my own identity again which will be entirely my own, instead of pieces of opinions I've collected from other people. And it's the most difficult thing. Thank you for this reminder. 🙂

I used to be hypersensitive to what people thought, I took everything people said about me to be true, until I realized some people have bad judgement or, like you noted, bad character. It doesn't have weight to me anymore because I know their perception isn't clear compared to someone with self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and they are probably so stuck in their inner wounds that it's unlikely to be about me anyway. Meanwhile, if someone is fairly reasonable, understanding, and cares about me, that gives it more weight. I absolutely acknowledge whether what anyone says is true or not but never in the sense of trying to please anyone, I do it in order to be my best self.

People's judgements onto you are only a reflection of themselves and also people care too much about themselves that they aren't even thinking about what you are doing.

Your demeanour, content, words, voice, cinematography: All the elements are so soothing and grounding, almost with a soporific energy (in an ever so beautiful way). Lots of love to you!

This is definitely a topic that I struggle with. I have friends that have helped me and taught me so much, but in the same time they are very judgemental. While I value their friendship immensely, I am afraid to show some sides of myself to them (such as YouTube and other passions), because of fear of being judged.
Your video gave me some new perspectives, so thank you for sharing, Lana. I would love to explore this topic further!
