I'm a Linux guy mainly, so, take my advice with a grain of salt.

These lite versions are great. For testing and playing around with. NOT as a main OS. I've tried Rectify11, ReviOS, Ghost Spectre and NTDev's Tiny11. NTDev's was the best of those. But, as Bri said, if you try to use it as your main OS, you will run into problems.

The meat of the question is: Will you get better fps in games with it? In my tests, I got an extra 5-10fps in my games. So, depending on the specs of your system, the answer is "Maybe". I have a 7950x with a 7900xtx and 64gigs DDR5 6000mhz. But, with that said, is that 5-10fps worth it? Not in my opinion. Plus the fact that after installing a tiny version, you have to end up reinstalling many things that games depend on. Not to mention these tiny versions even remove drivers that a lot of us depend on.

My humble advice is to just get an LTSC version from Microsoft, which are, or at least were hard to get and more expensive. Or buy NTLite and do it yourself and be mindful of what you remove. But, the first time you update, most of what you removed will return, so it's not worth it.

Final bit of advice, download one of these tiny versions and just play with it, if you want.(Repeating myself here, but, who cares. lol) Great and informative video again. Thank you.

I believe I mentioned these problems before on a previous video when going too lite. It's like going on a diet, you can lose weight by backing off on everything but it will cause you problems if you go too far.

You mention official Microsoft versions of stripped down Windows 11. Where can these be found please?

The Tiny11 dev apparently has a live DVD version of Win11 in the works. It's essentially Hiren's, but for Windows 11.

I would say only use these custom versions in a Virtual Machine or on a separate PC altogether. I'd also make sure these are completely disconnected from the internet entirely, especially if you don't want Windows reinstalling the bloatware.

Been running tiny 11 on my gaming pc and that is exactly what’s happening. Those same two updates won’t install. Wound up just reinstalling windows 11 pro. Even when you use that debloat tool and make your own iso you wind up with issues like this

i appreciate you and been a fallower for a few years, but in this video you didnt say nothing concrete, only things everyone with a decent brain can hear from the internet... "can" and "could happen" its just a fact of life, you could walk on the street and a car "could" hit you, that doesnt mean you shouldent walk on streets anymore... i been useing lite versions that i do myself for years, nothing bad happend

Very informative video - I hope people opting for these lite versions are aware of these issues. That said I recently installed Windows 11 Pro on a 32GB SSD and it worked just fine. Likewise, an installation on an Athlon 64 X2 (the original 64bit x86 processor) also has no issues with the full version of Windows 11 Pro (minus secure boot and TPM that is).

I was able to clean up windows 11 in about a hour to make it more user friendly. Personally the best way I think

"You have no idea what they are putting in them"... I mean, couldn't this be said about anything you download from the internet? People downloading these and installing them aren't typically your every day user, they are typically installed by people who are experienced. I personally don't use them because I am not a person who needs every FPS out of a game, or the lowest resource usage for software. I am sure by now if something shady was in these OS's it would have been brought up by now. Of course one version can be totally legit, then the next gone rogue, but can't that be a thing with almost anything on the internet? Even default windows updates have been known to brick peoples systems, even delete personal data... So should we not use vanilla Windows either?

I think people should research before making a decision to jumping to a lite version and make sure they are actually ready to commit to it, and they should themselves know the risks. People need to stop with the fear mongering nonsense. These people are providing a service that microsoft refuses to provide because it's stepping on their money making, and people make videos pretty much just saying "It could be dangerous" when most times it's not.

I'm using the win11 lite version that you reviewed on your site. Been using it for a month now on a new computer I built and it works great! I do see some windows updates that won't install but so far my computer is running just fine. I saved my OS using drive snapshot and am thinking on installing the full version to see how it does on my new computer. I don't game so my new computer consisting of a new B75 mobo, 16 gigs of DDr3 RAM, a new Crucial NVMe drive with a core i5 2500 CPU. It is very fast and responsive. It suits my needs just fine. Boots in just a few seconds. No need to spend a lot of money on a core i9 12th gen to do what I do. The only problem with the build is that the motherboard is an OEM according to CPU ID. There are no drivers for it from a manufacturers website. Can't find out who makes the board. But the drivers from win11 are working good.

If you do not have anything important in your laptop or pc, like no personal email, no accounts, no personal files or pictures, then having a lite version to play with maybe not a big risk. Anything else, listen to Brian

im happy with the standard windows 10 home OS, i disabled or removed some apps that i dont use and changed a few other settings from yes to no, my laptop feels quicker, i could upgrade ram to 16gb, but, is it really worth spending extra cash to get less ram usage, the comment about the guy you seen on YT with a ryzen 9 that stripped the guts out of his windows OS just to get a few more FPS, if his computer is that powerful, he should not need to do that much to a windows OS, he should be happy with what he has, i think it is greed or stupidity or both.

? You should've used v3rp3 of rectify which has an install and uninstall function and you can use it between updates. Rectify 2 got discontinued for security. Some new devs came and patched it up.

I wouldn't trust the third party ones. Thanks Brian. 👍
