My baseball playing days in high school were spent behind the plate when I wasn't on the mound. My sophomore year, I took over the starting duties at catcher and held the position for 3 years. Wore the same mask each year. Sophomore year, we had a game where the opposing team's catcher got upset about how the ump was calling balls and strikes. So he gave a weak effort in blocking a pitch in the dirt, that wound up catching the ump in the crotch. Even with a cup, it put the guy down and the game had to be treated like a rain out.

The next day, I went to a graphics store in the mall where they made sorts of things with screen printing. Took the back plate of my mask apart and had them put on the back "The only thing keeping you from getting struck with a third ball is me."

As a umpire in girls Fastpitch I seen this twice last summer. I had to take a double look, then I told the catchers "I like the sticker" haha got a big smile from both catchers....
