I'm so glad that people are naming these companies. It's getting RIDICULOUS how unprofessional they're getting. We really have to start putting their names out there. I once had a 5 ROUND INTERVIEW (I'm in finance, some zoom interviews), then after the 5th round (which was in person), got ghosted. 😑

Something really similar happened to me. I interviewed for an internship and got a verbal offer. I went through the entire hiring process: background check, physical exam, picking up equipment, etc. Then, the business day before I was supposed to start, I got an email saying my offer was rescinded due to budget considerations, but they told me I'd be prioritized for the next season.

To top it off, I got an email the following week (while failing my Roblox OA) saying they'd found a new team for me and were ready to extend the offer again. All I had to do was wait for Monday orientation. Then, on Friday, the same thing happened… I got a call saying the new department's budget had been cut, and they were rescinding my offer again. They really doubled down on the trauma.

Ive been in the field for about 10 years. Laid of 3 times. I don't care how much you make, save every dime. Always be remote, preferably living with your parents and saving every dime. Im remote overseas, with enough money to retire tomorrow if needed. One health issue could be a major set back. Usa cost of living is insane literally, don't waste your money living in an overpriced metro dump, be smart.

You're insanely driven, I can't believe the marklet is so poor it's even affecting you. I'm sorry you had to go through this, but kudos to you. You're definitely gonna find much better than ASSana. Keep grinding.

I interviewed at meta, thought I did really well and was going to receive an offer. I got a email from the recruiter saying he wanted to hop on a call. 2 days pass of me thinking I got the job. We get on the call and he tells me I didnt get it.

Nvidia gave me an offer during covid. I initially told the internal recruiter I was interviewing with a few FAANG companies at the same time while working full-time and didn't have the bandwidth. The recruiter kept insisting, so I decided to go through the process. They kept extending the number of interviews. Eventually, I got an offer and that weekend I was told they need to call me on Monday. They told me they decided to rescind my offer due to not being able to onboard well because of covid. I asked for more details and was told it was my "years of experience" which they were initially fine with.

I had 6 interviews lined up, all at places I would have absolutely loved to work at. Failed 2 of the on-sites, failed 3 phone screens, and failed one recruiter screen. I am super dejected as I've been unemployed for several months now and throwing away the opportunities I have been lucky to get. Your videos are motivating for me though and I look forward to seeing your unemployment journey conclude.

Such a weird situation to be in "You're too good... so uhh yeah you can't work here" lol

I did not know interviews would be that long. 2 hour blocks is crazy. I'd be pissed having to go through all that just to be ghosted.

I’ve worked in HR for the last seven years while recently completing a BS in Software Engineering, hoping to switch fields. These kind of stories are so disheartening and I’m so sorry you had to experience this. It’s a sign of how broken the modern recruiting and hiring process is. I’ve personally experienced great candidates being turned down at the fear they would be “too bored” in a role without really assessing if that is a valid fear or not. I hope you find something way better and very soon.

I get tired of thos BS hiring process and decided to build my own project, its been 4 years now my project reached 100k users not making good money yet 😅 but ill be a millionaire for sure, im Implementing apple subscription purchases and its hell with the backend server verification, so my advice you're smart just start building your own project

Actually had my manager told us that my company prefers not to hire candidates higher level than the job they are applying for.
They worry 1) people continue to job hunt - knowing they are underpaid. 2) asking for a promotion too quickly. 3) unhappy at the company because of downleveling

It's unfortunate, it's like you're being punished for doing so well in the interview. Anyway, Best of luck to you in your job search!

I remember I had a friend who told me once, “in this life, if something seems too good to be true, then most likely it is.” I hope you get a job man.

Do too bad on interviews = rejection
Do too good on interviews = rejection

This industry is unreal

I understand the frustration. But that's completely normal.

They likely had an approved budget specifically for an L4 role. If they hired someone overqualified, that person might receive an offer for an L5 position with higher pay from another company within a few months. Since they won’t be able to get approval for a salary raise that quickly to provide a counter-offer, the person may leave, forcing them to restart the hiring process.

I watched your first video and I am one of your first subs
I truly believe you are very smart .
To be honest, I encourage you to start building real project first yourself and you will make it for sure.
For the past 12 months, I have been building micro applications in top of my full time job .
The goal is to reach 10k/month and quit my job.
I am not making that much but with consistency, I will get there.
