He is absolutely right, Kevin didn't had any immigration issue but think if you are an immigrant and need a work visa to stay in US, it completely tied with your company, if you are laid-off your clock start tickting, you need to find a job in 60 days to maintain status.
If you are laid off don't be sad, hit back as hard as you can, prepare well, don't even waste an hour in a day. You will be thank ful that they laid-off, you will see the brighter side of it.
I was one of them who was laid-off on immigration visa(H1b), i got an offer less than 60 dyas and my compensation was increased by 30%.
Initially I was so worried and it caused me mental pressure, but I thought if not this country I will go back to my country.
I am here to earn some money get out from here.

"I got laid off, what an opportunity for growth!" I seriously doubt those were the first words that came out of your mouth. Thanks for keeping your channel up and not quitting. Some of your algorithm solving videos are the best I have come across personally. Maybe it's self deprecating to admit that I'm jealous of your salary, channel or optimism? But I know it's not truly envy since I follow your channel? That's super cool that you respond to a viewer who says they can't relate to your channel, turning around, trying your best to hear them and relate to them. That sort of open mindedness makes you a better programmer, at least that is something I personally believe. And I think statistically one of the best things a person can do to assure success is Trying To Be a Good Person. Props to you Kyle.

That’s exactly what’s happening to me now. 5 years with the company and I got the call last week about being laid off. And it went exactly how you story went. This was my first job out of college 😢 I just hope I can pivot from this and become a better developer

I lost my job and to be honest - I would now reflect back saying it was the best thing that could've happened to me. I started a YouTube Channel after before getting back to a regular full time position. I'm sitting at 2K subs, so I have high hopes for those who sees this!
