Why you should buy the Fujifilm X-T30 in 2023 | Full Review

This is where I bought my Fujifilm X-T30*:

Here I finally present my full Fujifilm X-T30 Review. The Fujifilm X-T30 has probably been my favourite camera over the past year. I made a video about it last year but a lot has changed since then, I've tested other Fujifilm cameras like the Fuji X-E1, X-Pro 1, GFX 50r and evaluated the X-T30 as a Fujifilm X100V alternative. I've also tested other compact cameras like the Leica Q and the Sony RX 100 series. After traveling with the X-T30 doing street photography, landscape photography, automotive photography and everything in between, I finally sat down to do a final review of this super portable camera. I take the X-T30 to Las Vegas for some film-like photography and compare the X-T30 to the X-T30ii. I also show my editing process for the film-look in adobe lightroom.

Hey FUTC... fellow XT30 enthusiast here. Love your fuji videos. You're not the first YouTube reviewer I've seen referring to the XT30 as being plastic. But it's not true. It's got a magnesium alloy top and bottom (as well as all 3 top dials). Not a big deal... but given that this keeps getting noted as a "negative"... it might help people if they knew it actually is metal. And feels fairly well built to me (for a lightweight small go everywhere camera). The on/off switch and the mode dial are really the only two parts of the body that bug me build-quality wise.

I have the X-T30 and the X-E1. They both offer great image quality and compactness. X-T30 is pretty much all I need for faster AF, more pixels, and sharpness; while X-E1 is my go to for vintage image quality. Both compact and easy to use!

Love how much image quality and flexibility you get from the X-T30 in a relatively compact package. I could even carry it with the XC15-45mm kit lens on a belt with a smaller case, rather than with a shoulder strap. Very convenient for long walks or hiking.

I bought a used XT30 with the XF 18-55 for 700€ a few days ago. The investment was worth it.
I also have a RICOH GR III when I want it really compact (the X100V is not much more compact than an XT-30).
Both used cameras cost less than one used x100V.

Before committing to an expensive Fujifilm camera I purchased the XT-30 to get a feel for the brand. I intended to upgrade but I have absolutely loved this little mighty-mo of a camera. Therefore I’m staying with it for a while longer. Combined with the 16mm lens the picture quality is off-the-charts especially after using the iPhone for the last few years. It’s the first camera that I love holding and love using and reminds me of my old childhood film camera.

I purchased the X-T30 and XF 18-55 lens in 2020. Hit the sweet spot between performance, price, and portability. Was looking for an EDC camera for my travels. Looking to get a pancake lens to make it it even more compact

I also have an XT30II and I like it very well 👍👍👍 initially I was going to buy a Ricoh GRIII but then luckily I changed my mind and got this one, and after testing it for about 5 months I can say that it is my perfect camera!!! It has everything you could want, first of all it's very small, slightly larger than the Ricoh, it doesn't fit in your trouser pocket, but it fits easily in the pocket of a jacket or I use to put it in a normal pouch!! among other things, I always carry with me (always in the same pouch) another lens!! so imagine how small it is!! and then everything else, image quality, folding screen, tach screen, tach screen shoot, the legendary Fujifilm filters, 26mpx, the ability to change lenses!!! The Pankake lenses 👍👍❤️ I have 2 lenses which are my favorites for the street and they are the 27mm F2.8 pankake and the 18mm F2 pankake 👍👍❤️ if I now think back that I was about to get the Ricoh hhhaaaa!!!! Luckily I changed my mind and got the XT30II ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Really love your style of videos dude, just bought an XT30 for my girlfriend, excited to test it out myself as well - I had the X100F and XT3 in the past so will be good to be reunited with the fuji film sims :)

I once tried out the xt30 in a camera store, and that was just a xt4 without 10bit video. Moreover it felt like a half size of xt4. I eventually bought xt4 because of its internal 10 bit recording, but if I weren't color grading videos, I would have chosen the xt30 with 0% hesitation.

What do you recommend more? X-T20 or X-T30?

I bought a xt20 this year and I regret not spending more and getting an xt30 for the greater film simulation options with the newer sensor

I interrupted a 5 hour Drew Gooden binge to watch this. Then I get Drew-rolled anyway. Can't escape. Drew is life now.

Top and bottom plates are metal, but there is a black paint layer under the main paint, so, if you have a little scratch, you'll see that black paint - not plastic. The only flash cap is plastic.

Wonderful presentation. Just the right splash of youth and silly. A breath of fresh air. Fair winds and following seas.

The XT-30 was the first mirrorless camera I ever held because when it was released I managed to sign up for a free demo event and actually tried it. Really want it, but gotta save up first, or more accurately to actually get a job first.
