This is the problem. Ordinary people are demanding extraordinary treatment.

So, pronouns are a way to broadly categorize people you're refering to because you can't be bothered to learn or even say their actual given names. And, now the woke want their own pronouns to separate themselves from broad categorization and be refered to specifically, personally, and individually, when that's exactly what pronouns were invented for to avoid. So, here is the final word on the argument against those wanting their own pronouns: No, pronouns exist so people don't have to remember your unique identity in the first place.

I try to give everyone the same respect at-first. Then it goes up and down once I get to know you. These people start out asking for more respect, by disrespecting me, by demanding I change how I speak normally.

It is impossible to "demand" respect. That's why the phrase is "command respect." Respect is earned through your actions, not because ypu think you deserve it.

When you talk to a person - a stranger, a friend, family, whoever - you aren’t using those types of pronouns. You use pronouns when you are speaking to someone else about another person, for example. Which is the strange thing because people get so upset if you don’t refer them to their pronouns. Well, how would you know? I’m using “you” when speaking to you.

He’s right. Pronouns are not indication of respect. They are categories. You can still refer to someone with pronouns and NOT respect them.

In Finnish we don't have pronounce for genders at all. Might be one of the reasons why our equal rights are so much ahead
