Reactive Strength Index: Know When To Rest

How do you know your athletes are in a good state to train?

Are they fatigued? Sore? In pain? Physically or psychologically exhausted?

We use a Reactive Strength Index test to measure our athletes readiness to train, by using a Drop Jump from a standardised height. Scores are recorded as a ratio of jump height and time spent on the floor.

Scores are compared to baseline measurements previously gathered from the athletes. If they scores are too low, that starts a conversation not a robotic decision to cut training intensity or volume.
