Highly disagree with the wording and logic here. A. The word "useless" is an absolute, so this assumes without any context the RSI is useless in all situations. Not much imagination here. B. You state "usually you can see whether players have good RSI by just watching the sport". Sure, but this would make a lot of other tests useless also. You forget that testing itself is a form of monitoring so even if the athlete seems to be visually good and RSI corresponds to this, it doesnt mean we have no use of an objective measure to see whether our physical training is supporting its further improvement. Your first argument also was that studies dont support always its correlation with performance, as with all tests (which is simplistic By the way as you can easily pick and choose studies that support its use, no meta analysis stating that its not good yet), but then you said that you can predict RSI from watching players on field, thats contradictory. I can say from my measurements with completely seperate cohorts in pro football and hockey and sprinters that its systematically correlated to vmax. So I cant test vmax constantly, but i sure as hell can test RSI often, hence my training is possibly supporting development of vmax. RSI alone would be also less optimal, but with other tests its definitely not useless. But hey, everybody is entitled to an opinion, but dont twist objective truth, such as using isolated articles to support your confirmation bias and create strong opinions that just confuse coaches.

so, then Boscos index, would be the only valid measure, in order to ''direct'' the training?

What do you thinking to the idea of regular RSI measurements as a measure of neuromuscular fatigue

So, as a monitoring tool of CNS readiness is still useless?

Hi, thanks for your review. How would you implement objectively pliometric training ? Thanks

Rsi is good measurement even you do pogo jump that wont be high bc of flight time is gonna be very low.You dont have to measure it but its a good demonstration for your abilities

Ya I guess you're right but the whole point is to get a number for the explosiveness

Spring like correlation is a much better metric
