its not really "passively cooled" more like cooled by an insane amount of airflow from the chassis, like a server

That’s meant for server racks, you’ll make an oven if you build an ordinary PC with it. Heatsink that small will not keep it cool at 300W+ for too long

This is NOT meant for a silent build. It is for Server/Workstation application, where you have a row of fans pushing air through the heatsink.
Fun Fact: in some servers, the highspeed fans alone draw 350W together under full load. Also, GPUs with fans on it would a) not fit and b) the fans would die bcs server fans push insane amounts of air

The connector isn't an issue. The problem was user error.
I've had my 4090 for almost a year now. And it's perfectly fine.

I think the connector is not a mistake. The mistake is that people don't plug it all the way in.

Even if the connectors suck, I think the placement of the connector itself can help tremendously since it wont be slammed against the glass panel and the rest of the cable have space in front to be routed.

I'd really love to see more GPUs sold like this - no proprietary fans or shroud for easy aftermarket cooling setup. Just needs attachment points for standard case fans (Otherwise they need to be installed in a separate bracket).
