How To Fix Slow or Sluggish Google Earth Not Responding Windows 7

That tip had been done when google earth was at version 5.3. The problem is still (2013) arising on some systems. Even though I say in the video it is for version 5.3, you can STILL try this procedure if the problems encounter are simlar to:

1) Slow startup
2) Slow picture display
3) Slow internet link display
4) "Not Responding" error message
5) Erratic functionning

This "how to" procedure is done under Windows 7 64bit using a Core i7 with 4 Gb of ram.

Please comment about your results and versions.

But for those who don't have a LAN connection, instead use only Broadband:
Open IE, Tools menu, Internet Options, and then Connection tab. In the "Dial-Up and Virtual Private Network settings", select Broadband Connections and then "settings" on the right side of Win7. Last uncheck the Automatically Detect Settings box.

Worked here too, Many thanks as I was about to remove Google Earth. Always Google any problem you have with your computer since it is very unlikely that your problem is unique.

I gave your video a shot. Unfortunately, it did not work. So, I cleared the cache in my Google Earth - cleared the problem right up! I say this not to criticize your video, but to give viewers an alternate fix, in the event they ran into what I did. Good luck!

Thanks, that tip worked well on my version, which, as of November 9, 2012, is the latest stable (non-beta) version 6.2.2.6613 released in April 2012.

Note that for the English language version of Windows 7, the button to click reads "LAN Settings" and then the checkbox to uncheck is on the next tab.

Actually I commented too quick, it did not work for me, was still slow and crashing, but we are on version 7.0 now or so, its not same problem. I just downloaded an older version and it worked fine.
