I have had an absolute blast jumping in and playing the Spiritborn in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred. I just love what this new class brings to it has been well thought out. It's been well designed and there were a ton of things that I am really excited to see that I did not expect and I can't wait to share them with you.

I’ve just been playing what felt fun to me. I’m running in torment right after 60 and it still feels great to play. Spiritborn are more fun to play than I expected.

I like the suggestion. Been playing since launch and never thought to look up skills like that. I just follow build guides because the paragon is not something I like theory crafting. But now, maybe I will.

I have been sitting on the VOH expansion for several months. I usually play a Rogue or Necromancer but really wanted to try the Spiritborn. So I am playing the Spiritborn but instead of starting with VOH, I started with the main campaign so I could get a really good feel for the Spiritborn class. I also have really sh-tty internet right now that drops a lot so I am not able to knock things out as fast as I did last season. I live in the country so we are on DSL but we ordered Starlink so that should be way better once we get it installed in the next couple of weeks. I am excited to have the fast internet speeds because it will be at least 5 times faster than what we have now. I am a slow player and like to savor the game and I think a lot of people that complain about certain aspects aren't playing to enjoy the game. I have played this series for close to 25 years. I started with Diablo 2 in 2000. I have enjoyed every single one of them. I play for enjoyment and the games have helped with my anxiety and panic attacks because it distracts me.

You are absolutely correct about the "squishiness" of the Spiritborn. In fact, as a veteran since Diablo 1 in 1996, Spiritborn has been the most surprising new class with its weaknesses as I expected it to be a lot more robust.

As you said, adding a little Gorilla is absolutely key as the one-shots (particularly with poison-imbued enemies) are particularly bad with this class.

I was so confused by people talking about choosing stance, I hit 60 and was teleporting somewhere and the loading screen hint said something about at 15 we get a class quest?!? Life is so much easier now I’ve done it 😅

I had a min Max theorycrafted build I threw together before launch, but then I got the aspect that allows gorilla skills add a percentage of armor to weapon damage up to 1500. I then got the juggernaut aspect and decided to scrap my initial build to try a gorilla thorns build that stacks armor. Works extremely well so far. It made the class extremely tanky.

Grab something and run with it to learn. You'll definitely be surprised by this approach.

I'm not too far in (I'm only around lvl 45'ish but I haven't really experienced any points where I was in danger. If someone is having survivability issues, then make your primary Gorilla.

Even if it isn't what you aren't planning on with your endgame build, having an almost constant barrier means that as long as you're paying the smallest amount of attention, you literally can't die. Getting the Gorilla Defensive (I think that it's called Armored Hide) gives you a Passive regen on a buff that gives you DR.

there is a Unique Helm that gives at max 30% per animal skill tag so if you are using say quill volley you should set your main and secondary spirit to like gorilla and jaguar and it will tag quill volley as all three spirits and give you massive multiplicative damage boost, the spirit circle aspect also make you think about what to set your spirits to

Lol i did the class quest at 43 haha. I totally forgot about it.

For the sake of storyline... i recommend doing the class quest after going in the spirit realm once in the main storyline.

At least for leveling the aspect, changes armor into attack is absolutely a must. There's almost nothing that adds more damage, then that aspect.
