Map knowledge is the most important skill in Escape From Tarkov. All other skills branch off of knowing the maps and how to move through them. Check out the video where I break down what to know and how to learn it! Check it out!

Absolutely the number #1 most overwhelming thing for beginners. Map knowledge. First time I played. I just loaded into offline raids for like 10 hours and just ran around with an internet map on a few maps. Completely changed my success rate for online raids. Invaluable. And pretty fun when you crank the AI up.

Yo Jesse the animations you have for the PvP pathing is incredible, would be awesome to have a static image map of the standard PvP pathing on most maps that it would work on. Super cool

The spawn point is huge, as a solo the amount of times if sniped a member of a large squad who got the spawn beside me and ran away knowing they will flank and take angles for a few minutes and as long as I keep moving its one less squad that I will run into as I cross map. I tend to head right to task or other side of map then loot so I'm not traveling heavy.

i’ve been maining shoreline for about a year now, and somehow have never though if breaking glass and jumping down the sky bridge like that! always something new to learn

Even with 2k hours not a single one i feel like. And i mean really knowing the map (every single pmc extract, scav extracts included, every elevation you can use, jumps you can do to get somewhere, good keys and where valuable loot can be found, what every single room is designed like). Maybe customs. Rest I still have so much to learn.

I do have to say its my first wipe playing solo and in the 300ish raids iv done so far. I learned more (in depth knowledge) than all 4 wipes before combined.

Lvl 38 now. SR only 45% tho.

I wanna thank you seriously for making this kind of video. I've been playing for three wipes and I've never really seemed to understand the combat with other PMC's completely. However, this video really gives me a place to start working on making myself better at the game, rather than just telling myself to 'just get gud' over and over again after I die to something that could have been prevented.

One thing you can do if you don't want to learn the spawn points just hide in a bush for a minute or to then find a root that's less traveled before you do your tasks or loot if you need to survive.

I shared this vid to my squad bc I have insane map knowledge, those guys cant see even after playing all wipe that where we are facing is the mine field on woods

2:10-2:18 - I LITERALLY died 7/10 runs of shoreline, pulled up a map and used common sense to think where i would go if i was a PMC spawned at the points near me and have only died on spawn once on shore in my past 15 raids there. (Obv died a ton after getting out of the area and near resort but thats a different thing LOL)

So happy to see you doing this type of video again

True. After respawning on customs I died in 30 seconds under an electric pole. In the next game I checked and in 30 seconds I got a kill in the same place.

For sure map knowledge gives biggest upper hand, there's a reason why they call geography the science of war.
I started the game recently and been maining woods, and boi it feels good to see ppl lost and know exactly what's going on hahaha, now doing scav runs on customs to get to know the dirty tricks so I can start pmcing customs too, seems like a wicked map

If only we had an after raid/server replay system where we could free cam and watch how we die.
