I really don't understand all the negative and cynical comments. This was their first attempt to totally depressurize the capsule and the first time they had tried the spacesuit in open space. They can't just go out and fly around the capsule.  When you come out as a baby you don't just stand up and run around the town.

testing out a new suit while in orbit and sticking out of the craft that has got to be one scary ass thing to experience

So I am an old guy meaning I was alive to see the first US man walk in space. Ed White emerged from Gemini IV inside a giant space suit. The new space suit looks so slim.
Way to go Space X.Good on you guys.

This brings tears to my eyes. We are baby birds leaving the nest and we are on the verge of becoming something greater.

The other three astronauts in the capsule are saying, "We're spacewalking A hard vacuum is a hard vacuum. Sticking out of the hatch is just the icing on the Danger Cake. It's all dangerous.

I was 11 years old in 1965 when Ed White did the first space walk by a US astronaut. That was so exciting. At now 70 years old, this Polaris Dawn EVA is just as exciting to me. Congrats to SpaceX.

There are no good words that can describe how ambition, hard work, and passion can achieve these goals. BRAVO!

Let never forget the brave souls of the Gemini project that did this in the mid 60's.

Incredible to watch Commander Isaacman emerge from the Dragon Spacecraft from the comfort of my bed. Growing up in the 80’s without smartphones or internet makes you appreciate the technology we now have
