WATCH: First-ever private spacewalk with Polaris Dawn and SpaceX

Billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacman and SpaceX employee Sarah Gillis step out of the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule for the first-ever private spacewalk. SpaceX's Crew Dragon craft will slowly depressurize its entire cabin - it has no airlock like the ISS - and all four astronauts will rely on their slimmed-down, SpaceX-built spacesuits for oxygen. For the spacewalk, Isaacman and Gillis will exit the spacecraft tethered by an oxygen line while Scott Poteet, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and SpaceX employee Anna Menon stay in the cabin.

How cool to watch. It takes me back to an earlier time of spaceflight when there was nothing that we thought was not possible in space.

The cool thing is the mobility of the SpaceX suit. So much less bulky than NASA suits. The Space Walk (1 & 2) was basically opening up the door, sticking your head outside, doing some Range of Motion exercises and going back in. I vividly remember when Ed White became the first American to walk in space during the Gemini 4 mission in 1964. Ed actually floated out into space while being tethered to the Spacecraft. One of his comfort gloves floated out of the Space Capsule door and slowly disappeared into deep space. That was a Space Walk. Ed White died in a fire that destroyed Apollo One while working in a 100% Oxygen environment on the pad before the launch. NASA learned a terrible lesson that day.

From what I understand to be a space walk, means you leave the vessel, he did not.

All that money NASA wasted on space-suits, when all they needed were bike leathers! 🇬🇧😉🇺🇲

Man, it is a challenge being a flat earther these days. That's way too many movies and images to debunk.

It is amazing how thin the space suits are.. but are they robust enough to do external repairs in space.. anyway definitely the most advanced space technology on the planet.. nothing compares to space X ships or methods by a long shot.. 😊
