Barbour Beaufort v Bedale I Key differences

Just a word of warning before buying without seeing and trying it on first.
My Bedale I bought new with tags was missing the studs to put a hood and the inner elasticated cuffs .
Though brand new with tags and not a clone or a fake, after calling barbour, i was told, there are jackets made for retail, which can have an inferior spec to ones sold on their website .

Also, watch the sizing .
My XL fits more like an XXXL with a 56 inch chest instead of the 48/50

im not too classical, i have the barbour international tantallon for proper cold winter, got a built in hood, and will do me from october through to march...wax jacket and warm as toast, proper protection from the elements...but from april to sept ...i need something lighter, and not as warm..and for looking smart...so i have the barbour lutz...which is thin, waterproof, but not good for the moors, but for nipping around town or shopping or going for a coffee, it is great and real stylish...
the tantallon i have in a medium, as it fits great and can easily handle a jumper and tshirt under it, but not a thick fleece ...but i dont need it with this jacket so im about 39 inch chest and the medium does well
the lutz..is perfectly fitting with a t shirt, but a bit tight with a jumper in the medium...so i got the large.as i may need to put a good jumper on under it...but as its a spring and autumn jacket...i wont wear antyhing too bulky under it ...and if it gets realy nippy...ill just put the tantallon on...
i like the beaufort, but i have a small quilt jacket for the moors in spring and autumn so i went for style with the lutz rather than functionality.

40 is good size for you. I am wearing 38. 36 is too snug for me😂
