Classic Barbour Jackets Versus Regular Barbour Jackets

Our guy's a Barbourologist! This is exactly a question I've been asking myself recently.

Sylkoil versus waxed cotton is actually very noticeable and make the biggest difference between both types of jackets IMHO (apart from the tartan lining). Sylkoil feels drier than the waxed cotton and the patina you get comes faster and is stronger and more heterogeneous.

Because of you Olaf I became a Barbour fan and chose the right size in the Bedale line, always look forward to your videos. I would agree no one is more knowledgable or has more useful Barbour content than you - keep it up and please review other jackets in the Barbour range. (UK based fan)

Olaf. I read the measurements on a website for the Classic Beaufort vs the regular. Strangely enough they noted the Classic had longer sleeves than the non-classic. Is that the same with yours?

Hello Olaf. Have you had problems with lint getting attached to the Sylkoil Classic? I own one and it is always full of lint, which is unfortunate and is taking away from my experience. Did you experience this with yours? Did it get better as the wax worn out? Thanks

Hi, I've got to commend you on your knowledge and experience of the Barbour range. I'm in the UK and have recently become interested in their jackets. Your channel carries the most comprehensive details of their range and is far superior than their own site. You should be on commission :-) I'm fairly confident that the Beaufort is for me and am very interested in obtaining the zip in liner too. However, believe it or not I'm having difficulties finding a retailer that is local to me that has the items in stock for my size (either a 38 or 40). Wishing you a happy 2020 from North West England.

Olaf, I'm new to Barbour so I love this channel and learning a lot of the terminology. Bought a used A100 Bedale here in USA and a second hand NWT Beaufort Classic (from England and having it delivered to Ireland so it will be ready to wear for Christmas). I'm a Spurs supporter living in NYC too.

Hey Olaf! I just recently discovered your channel when I was handed down my grandmothers Bedale. I love the look of it but the only problem is that it has an incredibly strong musty smell from sitting in the closet for 20 years. I’ve many things to rid the putrid smell but it seems to be lingering around no mayhem what I try. Any tips?
