I started using retinol about 15 years ago. I started with a Laroche-Posay Redermic. Initially got "retinol burn" and subsequent light peeling because my skin wasn't used to it. I noticed a difference after one month. The tiny fine lines in my skin had disappeared. I am 73 with no wrinkles. That doesn't mean I look 23 or even 43 as aging shows up in other ways as gravity takes a toll but my skin looks and feels nice. 😊

I try to tell people this all the time so I’m glad you have a large audience and can address many people. I always have to tell people who are going on beach vacations and ask if they need to stop using retinol “people in Florida, California and Australia use retinols daily. No need to discontinue use going to the beach on vacation. They live it daily and it doesn’t cause sun sensitivity for majority of people (because there’s always an exception) or unless you are peeling/flaking/have new skin exposed/etc.Just wear sunscreen as you should be doing anyway ”

I've been avoiding retinol my whole life because of these myths. I own a pool, and enjoy it. Nuff said. Please, more myths/facts vids! 🌞🧜‍♀️

Dr dray please make a review of Beplain products! It is a korean brand that made #1 in korea last year (2020) their brightening serum has sea buckthorn water and oil and their cleanser foam contains mungbean ❤️❤️❤️

So not that I’m ever (ever) trying to skip SPF, but just hypothetically for science’s sake,

will your skin get more damaged when wearing “retinol/no spf” OR “NO retinol/no spf” ?

My favorite is the Cerave one for post acne scarring. I got it for wrinkles, but like it way better than the purple one that is for that purpose.

I was told not to use retinol any more due to dry eye syndrome with MGD. Bummer!

And I mean there are day creams with retinol in them and many retinol products say they can be used am or pm. I don’t personally apply it during the day but it’s really just about protecting yourself and all those good ingredients with spf. It’s another step in your skincare routine just like the retinol. Not an extra or optional if you feel like it or whatever.

Hey Dr Dray, Thanks so much for such informative content! I love watching and learning so much from you. Do you think you could make a video with retinol and benzoyl peroxide products that I could find in Canada? I'd love to get the products you suggest, but unfortunately some of them just aren't available in Canada. Thanks again, lots of love ❤

No. 2 is true, been doing that for more than a month now and it doesn't give any sa. However, make sure your skin is already tolerable to retinol or retinoids, just tbs.

Is that all the same product but different brands, or do i need to purchase all 3 products?

Thank goodness someone reputable finally said that it's not necessary to wash Retinol off in the morning!

Is there any nonsense you can’t bust? I though I wad to wash it off in the morning first thing or it would cause me a problem. Now I know better. Thanks, as ever.

What about applying retinol to wet skin? I've heard you should apply it to wet skin and then I've heard that you shouldn't I would love your opinion on it?
