Watch live as SpaceX test fires a Falcon 9 rocket as it prepares to resume launches after the workhorse rocket was grounded following an upper stage failure. The Falcon 9's Merlin first stage engines are due to roar to life at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's pad 40 for a static fire lasting just a few seconds. We'll start streaming once propellant load is underway.

SpaceX is awaiting approval from the Federal Aviation Administation (FAA) before it can start launching its workhorse rocket again. The Starlink 10-4 mission is currently scheduled for launch no earlier than July 26 but that is a moving target until the FAA gives the goahead.

THe FAA suspended Falcon 9 launches after a second-stage liquid oxygen leak led the loss of 20 Starlink satellites. The spacecraft fell out of orbit after being left in a perilously low orbit during the Starlink 10-3 mission, which launched July 11 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

What exactly does this have to do with upper stage second start failure due to LOX leak?! First stage Falcon 9s are solid and reliable. Does this prove something to the FAA?

Gee, that wonderful that a Falcon 9 did a static fire. BUT, wasn't it the "Second" stage that had problems and did not make it to orbit and subsequently burned up reentering atmosphere! What does a Falcon 9 doing a static fire have to do with the Second Stage mishap?

EXACTLY... This static test has ZILCH!!! to do with the Second Stage M1 Merlin Vacuum engine rocket LOX So, what was the point of this static test??
