Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization.
Of our very existence.
But the war rages on. And everything is once again under threat.
Join the greatest military force the galaxy has ever seen and make this a safe and free place to live.

HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

There was a form of stealth in Helldivers 1. There was a stratagem. I called it the thumper. It would create waves to attract the enemies while you carried out orders.

"Drive me closer I want to hit them with my sword" is a Warhammer 40k Reference and that makes me so happy

There's a melee option i haven't seen anyone point out that would fit amazingly here.

The shovel.

I want a carryable super earth flag as either an objective or an item you have to bring throughout the mission until extract to get bonus points

hello it stealth already works. use scout armor to reduce your visibility to enemies then any patrols to do decide to fight must be dead in 5 seconds or less. i do find this difficult on the bugs but bots i find it real easy. crouching or even prone you can get real close to bases and patrols sometimes their practically stepping on you with no aggro. chuck a well places strike and boom kill off the survivers.

Stealth is about sneaking into an automaton encampment and taking out fabricators and dipping out before drop ships can come in. I usually sneak up to one and toss an orbital on the farthest then toss a nade into the closest. If you can headshot the smaller bots from a distance with a sniper they don't notice each other go down. Imagine how much cooler that would be being able to sneak in there with a silenced sub machine gun, planting c4, and sneaking out to the hillside and blowing it all up at once

I love how the ceo is so active in the community that we are shaping this game ourselves with our input and suggestions

Melee: There's always bayonets or gauntlet blades for making them work in setting.

Stealth: There's already armor that reduces detection radius so it seems it could be something to use between engagements at opposed to during a firefight.

One thing I would absolutely LOVE seeing added is a mechanic where bugs or any living species added in the future would at least fear fire. It just feels off to see bugs purposefully walk into napalm or in the flames of a flamethrower. I can understand for robots to just walk in and die but I'd expect bugs to try to dodge it by moving to the side or by hesitating to attack straight on. Would also help giving the flamethrower more use.

I remember submitting a request for adding swords to part1, then a few months later swords were added in the Proving Gounds levels. Can't wait to see if they add them again!

My idea for stealth is that instead of damage modifiers, there are weak points that are exposed because the enemies guard is down, like access panels or heat vents open on automatons for easy maintenance out of combat. Bits of carapace that are bent out of position from a relaxed stance on terminids, that sort of this. Like regular weak points but instant kills even disabling shots limiting their abilities to fight but only needing regular weapons. Like if you hit a hulks exhaust when it's open it cant use its flamethrower, or you can hit leg parts that cripple its speed, it would make things like the marksman rifles even better since you can pick off the strongest enemies more easily and thin a groups strength before beginning a fight to make up for the lack of fire rate. And though it would require a rework to some models, the walkers for example could have a more open faceplate, letting you headshot them from the front easier, and it closes when combat starts. I think it would mostly be interesting on the automatons though, shifting their posing a little like they're entering battle mode.

Arrowhead Studios is a Swedish developer.
And for a game selling over 150 million dollars, in Swedish currency, that's just shy of 2 BILLION SeK.... BILLION.

I want to be able to customize guns. Which I think must have been in the playtest.

Imagine being able to spend you recs!

My cousin and I completed 2 objectives using stealth in the game, it was against Automatons and we crawled though some trees, avoiding enemy patrols that were only 20 or 30 meters away, into a base objective, without suppressors we shot and killed the few enemies inside which were far enough from other enemies that they didnt come and investigate, shot the lights out, and completed the objective without any enemy reinforcements, which came after the objective completed (I think it was uploading some data) and then we crawled out into the trees again, the enemy reinforcements that came in, which im assuming were scripted to when the objective completes, never saw us and we just continued on.

I think adding more stuff to allow us to do things like that would be awesome, I know most people will just ground pound and run in guns blazing, but just having the option to do that is so cool, I want more of it!

On stealth gameplay, I'm rolling with the trailblazer scout armour, a Diligence rifle and the smg sidearm for panic reasons. I've solo'd Helldive campaigns sneaking around the map completing objectives, getting super samples and extracting. 9 times out of 10 it's quiet. It seems the more noise you make in HD2, the more attention you most certainly attract. Testing this with a friend, he joined my mission, dropped in on top of a big rock the bots couldn't get on and started calling in his support weapons and packs. With the radar ship upgrade and the hellpod radar booster, we could see all the bot patrols converging on that sound. It's a challenge to do, it definitely requires some patience, but you can get all main objectives, some optionals and still take out key threat bases like mortar camps and jammers.

I've been wondering if they'd ever consider adding in suppressed weapons to further lean into this style of gameplay. It really is a game changer. Don't get it twisted either, when you've gotta blow up a shipyard, you'll still be dropping 500kg bombs and orbital lasers, yeeting 'nades over walls, railing tanks in the turret, sniping missile heavies with your primary, it's still hectic when it needs to be but then you can break LoS, get into some cover, fall back and move to a flanking position and the bots are still shooting at the last rock they saw you behind. It's genuinely good fun, and already a mechanic in the game, perhaps it needs a doubling down on, maybe even some missions tailored specifically towards that style of play. With alarms and cameras that alert patrols and even call in drop ships. Not sure how they'd do something similar for bugs but, maybe they don't have to, maybe they could go a different direction with the bugs and have them have some more unique missions tailored towards the bug experience.

A support weapon sword makes so much sense! I was thinking more in line with a melee option as a 3rd weapon in a helldivers kit. Either way, I’d love a bigass greatsword

Not just swords. Could do hammers, maces, pole arms…. Could open up a lot of gameplay variation.

Helldivers 2 has given the middle finger to big devs and publishers. They have created something truly fun, addictive and overall awesome. Cheap in-game transactions (if you want) and also ways to earn currencies too.
- comedy
- action
- bugs
- booms
- big booms
- massive booms
- lazers

I love it.
