A News Update on the Helldivers 2 Situation

As a huge Helldivers 1 fan I can say nobody in the community excepted this game to blow up the way it did. The first one was beloved but it was very much a niche game with a cult following.

The real problem is the fact that they have no auto-logout feature. Everyone is tired of waiting in a queue so they never log out of the game. That is why the game is constantly at player cap at all hours of the day. You can literally log out of the game. Never do anything and just sit for days without ever being booted.

Are we not gonna talk about the use of nprotect and how its literally the most invasive anticheat for a coop game and literally can key log you and if it poses a driver as a threat it will go out of its way to delete it

It’s an AMAZING game, but come on guys… I was able to log on ONCE this weekend, and matchmaking was still broken. I realize you didn’t expect 400k+ peak players, but this is getting ridiculous. You took the exp boost off as well, that should stay in effect until the server issues are sorted.

I tweeted this at arrowhead 5 days ago, "If the game remains popular does it mean that a lot of customers won't be able to use their product when its convenient for them?"

I respect how hard the devs have been working but they need to give us an honest timescale, that way people can make an informed decision whether to get a refund or wait.

They could solve the problem instantly by removing the always-online requirement. Let my solo lobby run offline and it's not a drain on your servers.
When many people are playing, I can't even buy upgrades in my ship... because that needs to be communicated back to servers. WHY is the server handling non-premium purchases in a cooperative game?? That never should have been a thing in the first place. Who even knows at this point how much of their traffic load is utter nonsense.
