पास्ता, नाम सुनते ही मुंह में पानी आ जाता है। इटली का यह व्यंजन आज दुनियाभर में सबसे ज्यादा पसंद किये जाने वाले खाद्य पदार्थों में से एक है। इसे मैदा, आटा, सूजी इत्यादि के आटे में पानी, अंडा आदि मिलाकर विभिन्न आकार में बनाया जाता है। अनेकों रंग, रूप, आकार में आने वाला पास्ता लगभग 310 प्रकार, 1300 से अधिक नामों में पाये जाते हैं। एक सामान्य पके हुए पास्ता में 31% कार्बोहाइड्रेट, 6% प्रोटीन व कुछ मात्रा में मैगनीज होता है। इसमें माइक्रोन्यूट्रिएंट की कमी होती है।
