I think that we need a more coherent and enforceable set of rules limiting Presidential powers. For instance, no President should have any authority over any investigation that concerns him. No President should be able to pardon anyone who is in anyway involved with any investigation into him. That would be a start.

There should be an impeachment though the states, that works like a constitutional convention where 2 thirds of the states are needed to call for impeachment, and then 38 are needed to ratify it. Rules, legislation, even the budget, should be able to be done through the people some how. We should have more power, than just our vote. There should be a way for us to do everything congress can do. So that when they fail to represent us, we can take the reins.

The idea that we have to wait years to remove a terrible legislator is the problem. If this were any other job, the shareholders of the company could call for a vote at any time. I'm this case, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are the shareholders. We are supposed to be the ones who choose. Therefore, if the majority of citizens feel that the leader of the executive branch is failing in his job, WE THE PEOPLE should be able to remove him when WE want him removed. We shouldn't have to wait any number of years for another legislative branch to decide for us. We shouldn't have to wait for a regularly scheduled election to vote someone out.
When the majority of congress ignores the will of the people they are supposed to represent, that is when WE THE PEOPLE should have the power to make a change for ourselves. The mechanisms already in place for removing a bad president don't matter if congress doesn't care what the people want.

We don't need more means to remove elected officials, we need more checks and balances so that arms of the federal government can not act unilaterally, especially the POTUS / White House.  We can NOT have POTUS interfering in DoJ investigations.  Before Trump there was sort of an "unspoken rule" that this should not be done, but now, Trump has crossed the line; we need set rules to prevent this in the future.

The president is supposed to represent the people, the principle of popular sovereignty, we need a way for the majority to vote presidents out of office if they contradict all of their promises, we need protection from demagogues from taking power

This is an interesting question. I've never thought about this before. But I do think that I agree with David, in that we have enough methods of removal from the Presidency.

I have to agree with Pakman here. As much as I would love more ways to get rid of Trump, having a way to recall a president every two years would be a disaster. We know for a fact that most swing voters make up their mind on who they're going to vote for based on news from around 10 days prior to the election. So a president's career could be determined by a single even. Let's not forget how the FBI swayed voters by reopening an old investigation. It didn't matter that they found nothing.

We need term limits for Congress. 6 years. Either one term in the senate or 3 in the house or some other combination. If you serve 2 terms in the House and want to move on to the Senate, then you can only serve 2 years in the Senate which would give you a total of 6 years between the two. If a President and VP can only do 8 years, I think 6 for Congress is more than fair.
