Selling My First Rolex

The time has come for me to say goodbye to the first Rolex I ever purchased. The watch that started this channel and got me into the watch game.. I might regret this decision, but for now it's time to move on! I've enjoyed my time with the Rolex Explorer 214720 and its perfect 39mm proportions. After owning the Rolex Explorer for the past year I came to love this watch for its simplicity... However I think that may have also been its downfall..

Despite all the hype, once you own a rolex, you do realise, yes it can get boring, and before you know you're looking into the next model. Based on my personal experience, and needs i say, all you need is a no date sub, very versatile, and a day date, rose gold if you don't like flashy things as much.

I aslo sold my first Rolex, also the 214270 Rolex Explorer the past week. I think its disproportionate and that there are better Rolex watches out there. Me for instance is going to get the new no date sub 124060, during 2021

It's not a surprise given that you originally wanted a Submariner or a GMT; settling for this Explorer as only a stopgap while waiting for your allocation of other pieces to come up due. As much as you might have had good days with it, it was never something you really wanted. Falling out of love with something is a given if you were never in love with it in the first place. Hopefully more watches end up in the hands of people who actually want them, instead of people who are settling for them. That is not a criticism of you, it's just an observation in general of how impulse contributes partially (in what degree I am not qualified to say) to the ecosystem we are in now.
