As someone who already owns a Rolex, I find the whole manufactured exclusivity around the brand pretty ridiculous. To all the younger guys and girls out there don’t feel like you need to chase it, especially if it means dealing with unnecessary humiliation. If you love the look, there are amazing alternatives out there, including high quality replicas that look just as good. My son recently got one from Wristova, and honestly, he couldn’t be happier with it.

There is a threshold. Certain customers, for example, my father, went to get himself a retirement gift from Rolex, was unable to purchase and walked into a Breitling store and bought one within 15 minutes.

I sold my 18K gold day date just a couple of years before Rolex started doing this shit. A submariner was about 3000 usd. They have increased in price way more than inflation
