Mid-Acts Dispensationalists

Who are Right Dividers? Who are Grace Believers? These are the Mid-Acts Dispensationalists, like the Grace Gospel Fellowship, who believe that the church began in Acts 9 or Acts 13, and hold to only Pauline scripture as intended for church practice. This video tells you what they believe.

I was so happy to find this video! Someone on reddit sent me a link to some very complicated chart like the one you showed and I had no idea where they were coming from or what their denomination was

I knew a guy online who had these beliefs, but I didn’t realize those beliefs extended beyond him and some of his friends. Also, I had no idea this is what the Berean Bible Society believed.

Interesting, I've only ever heard them called Hyper Dispensationalists though.

My husband just took our family through the Book of Acts in our devotions and is now going through it in Sunday school at church. There's so much to learn from the early church that we miss by calling it just a transitional book or worse not studying it at all. It's a fascinating study.

I've believed in mid acts dispensationalism my entire life. I've always referred to myself though as a Bible believing Christian. Once you understand WHO God is talking to and how he is dealing with mankind at a particular time the Bible really becomes so simple to understand. All scripture is given by inspiration of God! It's just not all written directly to the church the body of Christ today. We are not under Isreals law anymore but now we are saved by grace through faith alone! Study to show thyself approved under God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of Truth. The middle wall of partition is broken down and there is no difference between the Jew or the gentile. We have had a mystery revealed to us today the church the body of Christ. I'm so thankful for my free Salvation!

It was wonderful getting a Sept 22 expansion on what Joshua put forth in this presentation from Beyond The Fundamentals in "Mid-Acts Dispensationalism Explained | Justin Johnson" - Clarified many things and well worth the watch 👍

One of the issues that I have with hyperdispensationalism is that they try to convert Christians, not the lost. Their main concern is with convincing Christians of their particular understanding of Scripture, not with preaching the gospel to a lost and dying world.

Protestantism is so odd at times, being unmoored from history. I can't fathom rejecting the Gospels and yet believing oneself to be a Christian!

2 Peter 3:15-18
King James Version
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

It's a weird cult. They don't believe John 3:16 is for Christians.
They also don't believe in water baptism - separating them from EVERY other Christian denomination for the last 2000 years - another hallmark of a cult.

Interesting and provoking.

Sometimes pictures, especially charts, that you show in your videos are not very clear so it's not helpful to screengrab and zoom in on them. If I do that they just get blurry.

Jesus preached to Gentiles; likewise Philip baptised an Eithopian early in Acts. They are deeply flawed in their views.

Dispensationalism and its consequences have been a disaster for christendom

It always strikes me as funny that those who forever harp on 2 Tim 2:15 never seem to understand it is possible to “wrongly divide the word of truth.” In fact, it’s so much easier to do so because there’s only one way to “rightly” divide it. Just because you’re dividing it means little by itself. Any time you automatically allow any system of interpretation to decide the meaning of passages of scripture, you have put your thinking on autopilot. Very dangerous thing when it comes to the word of God. No “prophecy of the scripture” is of any private interpretation. The Holy Ghost makes known His interpretation of the scripture, and the truth of that is borne out in His common witness in the believers. Great video, by the way.

So, the Gospel of Luke, written by a gentile Christian, isn't for gentile Christians?

There are many doctrines that to most are distinctive to "Mid-Acts" dispensationalists that were standard teachings of all dispensationalists. For instance, the Gospel of the Grace of God being distinct from the Gospel of the Kingdom is in the original Scofield Reference Bible and in Lewis Sperry Chafer's (founder of Dallas Theological Seminary) Systematic Theology. That Paul is distinctly the apostle for this dispensation is also found in both works. The newer Scofield Bibles may or may not continue this, I am not sure.
The difference is that the Mid-Acts doctrine continues to take the original "normative" dispensationalism further to understand God's Word where the progressive dispensationalism moves backwards toward covenant theology.
I do appreciate that you only showed the teachings and didn't give opinions and arguments against it. The thumbnail though gives a different expectation of what is in the content of the video. The distinctive of our Mid-Acts doctrine is not "The Gospel of John isn't for you", it is that the Epistles of Paul are distinctively for you because they are what the Lord Jesus Christ gave to him to teach to us.

excellent rundown, thank you. I arrived at most of these conclusions myself, just from trying to understand how apparently contradictory statements in the Bible could be true. It's nice to find out that I'm not alone or crazy....

Interesting. I have heard of this doctrine but your detailed presentation helps a lot. One thing that I would like to ask these folks is that if water baptism is not for the church, then why did Paul baptize? Granted, he did not seem to hold it as of first order importance (1 Cor 1) but he still did it. He is even able to rattle off a few names from memory and it seems clear they they were all not Jews given their Greek names. Lydia and her household (Acts 16) is another. Same with the Philippian jailor in Acts 16 as well. He is another obvious non-Jew so water baptism cannot be an exclusive Jewish thing. If there are mid-Acts folks out there reading this would you please supply an explanation?
