This groundbreaking cinematic event stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, the lone security repairman stationed on a desolate, nearly-ruined future Earth. When he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft, her arrival triggers a nonstop chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows, and leaves humanity’s fate in his hands. Academy Award®-winner Morgan Freeman joins Cruise in this “visually stunning” (Pete Hammond, Movieline), explosive story from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I cannot stand Tom cruise films, like nick cage he's the same guy in every single role.. but way, way more obnoxious and high on himself beng high on life...
(I can't stand the thought of watching any mission impossibles.. they're a joke)
BUT, I saw a clip from this flick and it seemed very different.. the movie was great/good/entertaining

We watched this the other night. Not like us to bother with a Tom Cruise film but there was nothing else on so we gave it a whirl. Tom and a female partner are watching over a ravaged Earth and under constant threat when things take an odd turn. At least we *think* that's what it was, because we couldn't really tell. The reason for doubt was the extremely low-level dialogue, most of which was mumbled or whispered, especially by Mr Cruise who was trying not to move his lips. Why not just pump up the volume? Because the music and effects were VERY loud and we feared lumps of plaster might come tumbling down. In the end we both gave up trying to follow it and waited for the credits.
