FILM DESCRIPTION:
A solitary drone repairman working on a war-ravaged planet Earth becomes humanity's last hope for survival in this ambitious sci-fi epic from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes producer Peter Chernin. In the distant future, planet Earth has been decimated by an intergalactic battle against an alien race known as the Scavs. The majority of the mankind has been evacuated, leaving just a few solitary drone repairmen remaining on the planet's surface. Their job is simple - stand guard over the ruins of a once-great empire by patrolling the skies, and ensuring the drones continue to function. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is nearing the end of his mission to extract resources essential to the survival of the human race when he witnesses a spacecraft fall from the sky. Upon investigating, Jack discovers the capsule contains a mysterious woman. With mission control watching his every move from high up above the clouds, Jack embarks on a spectacular adventure that will not only challenge everything he's been taught about mankind's most defining battle, but perhaps alter the entire course of human history. Olga Kurylenko and Morgan Freeman co-star.

Good acting, specially Olga. Her change of tone, breaking down as she reveals who she is to her husband, giving it emotion as if she is truly in pain, and despair. I know nothing about acting, but I can tell that is not an easy feat right there.

I didn't know why I went to see this, but was happy I did. I had not seen a movie at the theater in a decade, and have seen two since. Every time they twisted the plot I was pleasantly surprised. Fighting himself. Standing in front of precious art somehow salvaged. That painting alone being a thousand words. This scene showing the ring in front of the newly completed Freedom Tower through the viewer. It all felt like a powerful mind trip. Like I was there after the second world war, and again now. It made the war and 9/11 feel the same. Like I was also a hundred years old, waking up from a strange dream. I think that is the genius of the film. It is the story of a man who realizes he's been living a lie. Gone away with a strange vixen to live in an ivory tower. But it's not real. He's been living a lie. And returns to his wife. It's almost mystical.

This is a must watch by all Scifi fans.
