God code geass is an amazing show, my friend and I still listen to it’s ops and endings while playing games they’re so good

This was a massive show when it came out and one of the biggest shows outside of the long running big 3 Shonens(Naruto, Bleach, One Piece)of the 2000-2010 era alongside things like Death Note, Gurren Lagann, FMA 03 etc.

Easily one of the best animes ever made. Also one of the few that I really prefer the English dub. Kind of worried about you watching all of the openings since they all have a good amount of spoilers. Either way it'll be awesome if you do pick it up.

So... Code Geass is literally one of my favorite shows of all time. I first watched it when season two had just finished airing and I was maybe eleven or twelve. It was this serious, complex, lived in world with drama and beautifully built characters. All of this was completely new to my tiny brain and it was a brilliant awakening from the formulaic kids shows I’d been stuck to previously. This show ignited in me an unquenchable thirst for adventure and action that drove me to books, anime, and western TV in search of my next fix. Even now, as a proper adult who has taken off her rose colored glasses with the intent to critique and study this show, it still takes my breath away. Sure the show is flawed, and there are quite a few points where the writing slacks, but I still find this to be an absolutely inspiring show. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend it to anyone with an iota of interest in social commentary or social struggles, or mecha, or action, or anime in general. Because my god, this show is my drug and it’s like fucking magic. When you put aside your disbelief and let this show suck you in, it takes you for a wild ride that will have you laughing and crying and wishing there was more. And by the time late season two rolls around, the magic hits all over again and you’re either cackling with our protagonist or your rolling on the ground crying, because the tragedy in this show is a bitch, and it’s wonderful. Imma stop myself there, this has already become enough of a rant. Just watch the show. Thanks.
(PS: the dub is really good. Definitely check it out if you are watching for the first time. Because there’s a lot to process in season 1, and reading subs does not make things easier)

This is my favourite anime of all time.

Great story
Great beginning
Great ending
Great characters
Great action

It’s also the only anime I’ve ever watched where I’ve preferred the English Dub to the Sub. I’ve seen both, and I genuinely liked the Dub more.
I really hope you decide to watch this anime dude, if you do, you will love it!

I’ve been binge watching you reactions to openings cuz I love your reactions style. You point out certain aspects of the music you enjoy, pick out important moments in each opening that have meaning ( despite you not knowing why for obvious reasons ) and give quick comments at the end. Much better than other reactors I’ve seen

Animation by Sunrise(Bandai) so mechs designs are very solid. character design is by clamp group creator of Card captor sakura, xxxholic and shoujo-esque works.
Code geass is a new IP at the time so they probably want to keep the budget low on the OP to focus more on episodes.
