The All New Specialized Allez Sprint! | The First True Aluminium Superbike?

Показать описание
Specialized has given its Allez Sprint platform a complete revamp, unveiling an all-new construction that’s aiming to pair the durability and accessibility of aluminium with a race-winning level of performance.

Much of the tech – and the exact geometry – has been taken from Specialized’s flagship race bike, the Tarmac SL7. With the Allez Sprint coming in at £1,599 / $1,700 for just the frameset, it’s by no means a ‘budget’ alloy bike, but it still strikes a much more affordable number than the £3,750.00 / $5,500.00 frameset of the SL7.

The more I see these new bikes, the more I love my old ones.

The Trek Emonda AL6 looks better, comes with Ultegra, and still costs less. Who is going to buy this?

I was really excited to see this... then I saw those welds and that cable routing. You can pretty it up with the aero fly bar and stem but you're still stuck with a lumpy frame - you can't fix ugly

love my allez sprint from 2018, cost the same price for a full build as the current frameset, and weights a lot less due to rim brakes. cheers specialized, but I'll keep the old one.

00:50 "it's 41 sec faster"...naa i think 58sec or 4min or me wrong...numbers with no units or reference are meaningless! (Sorry but as an engineer i get fysical pain when i hear this kind of things)

What a lovely Aero design with all the cables sticking out.

I love how every comment on every review of this bike is calling it out for being overpriced trash :)

It would’ve been more aero if Specialized didn’t blindfold the welders & made it 25 lbs kitted up, but I guess that’s what makes it, “without that high-end performance price…” Give me a break

The problem is. This Allez Sprint is now even less affordable than before. In my local market (Singapore Dollars), it has risen at least $1800 for the past 4 years, from $2700 in 2018 to $4500 presently

That welding looks awful, looks like the frames snapped and then been welded back together!

That bike sure is lumpy! I’ve got a 2007 Trek 1.5 Aluminium bike in the shed which looks far more like a carbon frame than that new Specialized. It uses hydro formed bits and is 15 years older. WTF are those welds doing on a new bike at that price point?! The trek was £500! Just complete nonsense! There are so many great aluminium bikes out there. This one might ride brilliantly, but it looks totally shocking, in all the colour ways I’ve see.

That weld is AWFUL - who an earth said that was ok? bikes from 20 years ago were better than that. Shocking.

Threaded BB is nice addition, but that cable routing through the head tube looks a bit messy.

I read ALL the comments and there’s not a single positive one, that shocked me.

The best thing about this video is just how much shorter it is than other videos on this new bike. At least Cycling Weekly spared us from anything other than the marketing talking points.

I want an aluminum version of the Aethos. The Allez regular has endurance geometry.

Specialized marketing team are assholes saying this bike is 45 sec faster than the previous model. I wouldn’t ride this bike if it was given to me. It’s far to ugly and heavy
