Would you choose alloy over carbon? (Sorry about the 1080 upload, little problem with YouTube video processing...)

I think I'm going to buy one, so I can inspect the "smart welds" for myself.

"This alu bike's just as good as carbon, you'll get the full carbon experience"

"... we also charge you the $3k carbon price tag for the full carbon experience"

As a Bianchi owner I'm deeply offended by the attempt at cultural appropriation with this paint job.

As a mechanic i love that the bike designer drilled these 4 handy holes in the top headset cap. It`ll take less than a minute to regrease the bearings and i can charge 30min as usual and on top of that, the costumer probably has to buy new headset bearings every month in the next rain season.
Specialized has shown once again that they are far ahead of the competition and know how to earn money.

Thanks for the review. Bought my 61cm bike 2 months ago and am enjoying it immensely - on club rides it keeps up with way more expensive carbon bikes and does well on the TTs. Great bike for the price point.

Cannondale had perfect welding on the CAAD 17 years ago ! And the painting was so so good too.
This has neither of both.

By all means, I’m sure it’s a good bike. But for that price you get significantly better deals on many big name carbon bikes. A Canyon Ultimate with 105 to name just one. Otherwise, great vid as always, David!

Good Grief ... those weld lines look shocking. I could buy a beautiful looking carbon Orro Venturi STC aerobike with full 105 and still save £350 ... it's a definite 'no thanks' from me.

That Allez is actually an early 1992. I lived a 20 minute drive from Mountain View CA at the time and purchased an Allez Epic Dura Ace Model in 93, and still ride it today. Over 200, 000 km, all original except have gone through 5 saddles, and rebuilt the wheels.

I own this bike. You just have to ride it. It’s so responsive and it’s also very stiff. It’s really a super bike.

I actually had the retro Allez with the carbon weave, clear coat, and steel butting that you briefly show. I got it in 1989 and rode the living tweedle out of that thing! The only problem was that the fork would start vibrating if you went downhill over 40mph! But as, far as the Allez Sprint, it's basically the same concept as the Chisel for mountain affordable alloy racing bike, using the same weld process, that can be easily upgraded.

I now work at a huge online shop for bicycle parts and it has been my dream for many years to buy an Specialized Allez Sprint and now I am closer to the dream than ever before. I've been dreaming of this bike since it came out back in 2018 with rim brakes.

David, you owe me 12:24 of time I can not get back, you are a marketing managers wet dream.

I have a BMC Teammachine ALR with wheel upgrades. It shares the geometry of its carbon counterpart and is super fast, lightweight, comfortable, but a fraction of the cost (at least it was last year!)

Insane price for an aluminium bike. Horrendous welds, heavy. What a rip

When it comes to money, aluminum may have great value, but not if it's anything from specialized

I’m riding CAAD13 and love it. It’s very fast and responsive. Aluminium is great,

Sure, I ride a CAAD12 Ultegra that weighs only 15lbs 2oz. Hunt Alloy Wheels, Carbon fork, seatpost, handlebar, lighter saddle, tires, tubes and tape. Climbs well and coasts fast. (The welds are pretty sharp too) Under $2, 000 complete.
