Dude, you can't imagine how famous and trustworthy you are among all the tech enthusiasts around the world. Almost every GPU/CPU deal here in Germany quotes your blue bar graphs to compare performance :) This is the result of honest hard work. I'm happy for you, dude.

If you put hardware in a box Steve will take it out again.

Really appreciate the use of the 6650 XT, a much realistic pairing with the 5600 or other budget CPUs. It really shows what to expect from real-world builds. Thanks for you work!

B-roll is killer on your guys' videos! Keep up the good work!

Been waiting for this! Awesome to see some GPU scaling as well. I 100% understand why everyone is testing 1080p with a 4090 to show raw performance difference between CPUs, but at the end of the day people want to know whether these products are worth buying with a realistic GPU matchup. Awesome work!

the ryzen 5600(x) is legit a no-brainer to buy. Using mine since 2020 and probably will for the next 2-3 years on 1440p. Great product.

This was great. It was really useful to see GPU scaling across CPUs. I'd like to see this more regularly, but I appreciate that its a bunch more work.

Would've loved a CPU above the 5600 just to give perspective as to how bottlenecked the system still is

Thanks Hardware Unboxed. Interesting video. I was thinking of buying a 13100f, but will now probably go for either a 12100f, or 5600.

Wow only few weeks ago he was discussing this subject on a monthly q&a, and than came back with a banger !!! Best review channel on the world. Just what midrange community was looking for!

I bought 5600 before Black Friday for a secondary PC. It's an incredible CPU for the price. Combined with a cheap AM4 platform, potentially sourcing used parts like B450 motherboard - it's an easy go-to option.

Wow, I was waiting for a scaling video for so long. Thanks a lot ❤️

Great video, Steve! As a suggestion, I would be interested in seeing a mid-range CPU/GPU scaling showdown with the intel 13400/13500 CPUs added once the new mid-range GPUs (RTX4060/RX7600) come out later this year.

I bought a couple of 5600 to pair with RX6800 for 1440P for mine and the wife's computers. I think we are done for a few years. My 1600AF worked surprisingly well with a 6800 also, I just had to try it. Any new game will have to be more than eye candy to get me to buy it and considering the quality of recent games, the RX6800s might last me until they mechanically fail.

I'm very much happy with my 5500!! Anything I throw on it.. runs over my exception.. I have a lot of upgrade options fairly available and cheap!! In New.. as the new AMD!! are launched and yet to launch..

Hurray for budget part reviews! There's a whole lot of performance in those small buggers, I have to say. Also, it's interesting to see where the bottleneck appears. I think, perhaps, they went a bit extreme here, so that we only get to know it's somewhere between the RX 6650 XT and the 6950XT, which is a huge span, and thus of limited help. Looking forwards to the 13400 and 13500 review and how they compare to the 12400 value champ! Do the E-cores matter? We'll see.

Today's incredible video is a bit of a landmark video for me. This video singlehandedly tosses out some preconceived conceptions that I was wrong about. This video introduces the driver overhead dynamic and it's dependency on CPU for better GPU performance. I was already correctly aware that the 4090 would be CPU bottlenecked on even the fastest CPU at 1080p and 1440p. What I didn't expect was for the much cheaper (and let's be honest, architecturally weaker) 6950 XT to come in SMASHING the $1600 - $2000 RTX 4090!! I was honestly expecting the results to be very similar, and perhaps the 4090 pulling just a couple frames ahead due to certain portions of a benchmark run being less CPU constrained as other portions. like how this video shows that CPUs like the 5600 have a decent upgrade path just by replacing the GPU, where the Core i3 doesn't as much. Iwish there were more GPU/CPU scaling videos out there. I am kind of wondering now how much headroom I actually have for my 5950x if I ever wanted to upgrade my Radeon RX 6800. (not an XT card)...

This takes me back to the late 90's/early 00's. I used to get PC Gamer magazine and they had awesome CPU graphs comparing them low/mid/high tier GPU's. Gave you an great idea of what CPU you need for your gaming goals/budget. Felt much more "budget" consumer focused, like reviewing normal cars rather than Ferrari's and Crevette's.

Think they even included low/medium/high quality settings as it effected the CPU performance too, because if you're going to run a game on a budget you might be more interested in how it handles at medium settings. Back to the CAR ALANOGY lol.. you just want to go to the local track, not Laguna Seca

IMO not everyone need's or more importantly has the money for $300-400 CPU when a $100-200 will do 95% of the job when pairing with a $200-300 GPU on a 75Hz monitor. The reviews of just 4070ti/4080/4090 and 7900xt/xtx are great and all, but this makes kids think they need to spend well over 1k just to get into PC gaming when a $100 CPU and $200 GPU can play all the new games on a 1080p/60Hz monitor with medium settings perfectly smoothly.

Side note; Nice to see you can build a GOOD new system again for around $500

ryzen 5 5600 and rx 6700(non xt) was the best budget build I could ask for.

I think you should just wait a month, do the 5800x3D, 7600, 7800x3D and include the 5600 data to get a good spectrum of the AMD landscape
